Default Bolt-on 99 z28 vs bolt-on pullied 04 cobra

After a local car show a bunch of nice cars were hanging out at the park when someone ask's me if I wanna race an 04 Cobra. I have been wanting to run one for awhile now so I say hell yea. Anyways after this we go over to his blue 04 cobra and he than takes off his stock wheels and puts on his drag slicks. While this is happening one of his friends tells me he has pulley, intake, exhaust and a dyno tune and makes 450rwhp. I dyno in about 360hp off nitrous so I figure I will spray him and have a badass win! Well anyway we get out and race and this is what happens

30-130
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98wCy...1&feature=plcp

As you can see my nitrous failed to hit and he pulled a couple cars on me when I shifted to 3rd at about 105. After we got stopped it sounded like my tire was deflating and I get over and my nitrous line is setting on my exhaust and my n20 is spraying straight out . I think I held up really good considering what he has. If I would have sprayed I really think I would have pulled him a pretty good amount. I will be looking for another race when I get my n2o hooked back up!

Thanks, it was a **** load of fun. 50 cars or so went out to this lonely stretch of highway we call "old 54" and we were racing for a couple hours! There was an 06 srt-10 viper, a 580rwhp 2jz, built evo's/sti's and ALOT of other badass cars. I also raced a nice looking nova from a launch and spun like a bitch. Not sure what all he had done, but he had slicks to my radials so after I got done spinning through first gear I cought up to him pretty quick and ended it about even.

Whats the point of slicks for roll racing in a 450rwhp car?

Seriously From a 30 roll he would need either a really damn good drag radial or a slick. It wasn't all just roll racing going on either... Not really sure why someone wouldn't wanna run a slick while street racing in a 450rwhp car... It's about the only way to get good traction, but anywayz back to the thread lol

How much rotational weight do you think would be removed by going to 17-18" wheels with radials to 15" wheels with bias plys? Use your head

Also on the street ET Drags actually stuck for traction.

Thats what I thought.... He pulled pretty good up top, but I didn't do to bad down low... I think I am a couple hundred lbs lighter than him as well. As soon as I get my feed line fixed we are going to have a rematch!

Good death for sure.

Unless his car is a Mystic, it should be a 03.

Not enough rotational weight to really do **** from a roll. Not to mention if those are 28"s, that car is only going to be slower with a stock gear.

Good run op, you would wreck that cobra on spray.

Don't forget that the Cobra weighs around 200 more pounds than a 4th Gen.

umm ok. not that it makes a bit of difference. not like you lose a race and say: i just got drug, but im heavier...none of that matters. 2 cars race and one wins, period.

Your bolt'on 99 SS makes 360whp through a stalled A4.... with a nitrous tune?

if weight doesn't matter then neither do modifications of any kind. so lets just all ignore the differences in any car. because "two cars race and one wins period". Im not sure if your a ricer or a wielder

lol really?

so when you lose a race at the track you find your opponent..then compare every aspect of the car?

how do they run quick 16 and heads up classes. that must not be...fair?
