00 SS vs 95 Ferrari F355
Well, last night was the first night in my new car. It's a bone stock, 12K mile 2000 SS. Anyway, I was cruising in town with my friends. One has a 93 Z with long tubes, loudmouth, cold air, pulley, and drag radials. The other has a 99 Formula WS6 with shorty headers, SLP ypipe, loudmouth, lid, and drag radials. Anyway were ripping around town trying find someone to mess with when the guy who owns the local Mitsubishi/Volvo/VW/Audi dealership comes zipping along in his 95 F355. Of course he thinks he's king of the road, and the car is REALLY SWEET, but it's still not that quick.
Anyway, he won't do much in town, so we get to the last light that takes us out of town and he's in the right lane with my buddy with the 99 right beside him. I'm behind the Ferrari and my friend with the 93 Z is behind the Formula. My g/f and my buddies g/f are in her moms car (97 Z28) behind us, so they get to see all the action.
So the light turns and they launch, but the guy in the Ferrari wasn't really seeming to be reaming on it. My friend with the Formula backs off thinking he's not going to race, when all of a sudden the Ferrari takes off. You can tell when that thing rips out because it lets out this loud, unique, howl. It sounds sick. Anyway, I am still in first, so I nail it right behind the Ferrari as soon as I see him go. I zipped right up on him and kept right with him, even letting off the gas because I was getting too close. We only got up to about 80 before the Ferrari guy brake checks me, and we slow down.
So from about a 20 roll to about 80, I was right behind the F355, even letting off the throttle to keep from catching his rear end. Now, I'm assuming if we went on the highway from say a 60 roll, he would pull me, but I don't know. Either way, it was sweet that these sub $30K f-bodies made work of a $120K+ Ferrari.
It was a good first race for the new car

I remember DMNSPD saying that his older car was ragged out and just in bad overall shape from the previous owner, so he got rid of it and searched for a new car. And that SS is now what he is ended up with.
Congrats on the new car man, and nice runs!!

Where did you end up finding this one? What color is it? Did you get all the options that you wanted. You haven't posted anything on your new ride yet.
c'mon let us in on the details.
By the way, nice toying with an Italian sports car. That's some expensive ride especially for up your way.

It's everything I wanted. Black leather, ASR, full power, Monsoon that actually has speakers that aren't blown out, and it's pretty mint to boot. The first thing that is going is that POS Hurst shifter. I'll be ordering a Pro 5.0 next week. I keep grinding gears, and I HATE IT! I can't beleive people actually deal with the Hurst. Anyway, besides that, I love it. It's the only car i've bought that i'm actually satisfied with.

Sorry everyone. It is WHITE. I really wanted SOM, but they are few and far between - not to mention they usually cost a bit more. So I saw this white SS and fell in love with it. I decided to get away from black since it's a pain to keep clean, especially when it's a daily driver. There are also like 2 black SS's around, as well as a red one, so my white one is the only one around. Anyway, once it stops raining, i'll give it a good wash and get some pics up...

Damn I gotta go and play the lottery. For some strange reason I had a feeling that the car was white. Hey Demon that isn't the one that I found in my local paper for you was it. IIRC that one was white with low miles also.
