Viper vs Z06

badass ******* car. I actually have a race coming up with a stock 06 viper.

Thanks!, keep us posted, they trap about 115-118 mph stock. Low 12s if you run them in the 1/4.
Post video and results. I think you have a good chance of beating it with your rpms advantage if you are making over 450 rwh.

******* WANT. Your car looks amazing. My buddy has the exact same car, ditched his RSI TT kit, and now has a custom triple ball bearing Comp twin 72 turbo kit being made with air to water intercoolers. Going to be nasty. Pretty sure I'll be selling my car next year to be buying a 96-99 GTS. Been my dream car as far as I can remember.

This about sums it all up, and also has the side benefit of showing where each manufacturers targets were laid when they built there cars: Dodge always overdid the track aspect of there cars, DARING anyone to complain about street manners or lack of amenities or burned up legs in there street legal TRACK CAR. GM wanted a car badass street car that could be quickly converted to a track car. Big difference back then, not so much nowadays with top of the line brakes, computer assistance, and simply amazing new tires that allow any friggin car to be a track monster if the manufacturer so desires.

The 06 makes about 435-450 rwh stock. A stock Z06 is faster. If you can run with a Z or beat it, you got the viper covered. The 08 is a different animal, a few hundred more rpm and 530-550 rwh stock.

Fwiw, the older Gen II cars went low 12s @ ~118.

Once you stroke these motors (510 cid gts or 522 on the gen 3s)and build the bottom end with billet caps, studs, do head and cam etc. it really makes a huge difference in the power band, rpms and the amount of power/tq they can make on pump gas.

Yes, that is Jimmy, he posts over at Viper Alley. He is doing a nice set up, although he is keeping the Motor and Heads stock. He will probably crack 900 rwh.
