Went and Picked up my girlfriend yesterday and was headed over to my buddys house to watch the 49ers game. Leaving her street I noticed what looked to be a newer 350z all blacked out with exhaust pulling up behind me though I didn't think much of it.

I could see sitting at the light the dude looked like the typical college dbag, spiked hair big chained and limo tint windows. Anyway I make the right hand turn onto the main road and granny shift into 2nd at like 15 mph. Just then I see him almost slam into my back bumper, he goes into the left lane and pulls next to me still accelerating.

I heard him drop it all the way down when he got next to me being that I didn't have time to go to first only doing 15-20 mph I just kept it in 2nd. Of course the car bogged a bit and stayed even with him, as soon as I hit 3500rpm in 2nd it was all over I immediately started putting lengths on him and then went to 3rd where I left off quick. Ended up putting 1.5-2 on Him after that he wouldn't even look at me. I
just wish I coulda went to the right gear and really embarrassed him. Mods in sig btw.

Z28 was in the wrong gear and still walked said modded 350 through 2nd and 3rd.

You would think that they are faster, but they are pathetically slow. I have less mods and pulled the last one hard and he had an intake/catback/tune setup.

Nice kill. When you say "newer 350Z" do you mean 370Z? cuz they look real similar. The newer 370Z is a bit faster but a Z28 will still take them stock for stock.

I raced a 11' M6 370Z from a dig in my lid/catback A4 Z28 and I put about 2 lengths on him by the time I shut-down at about 100mph (1/4 mile roughly)

Na it was def a 350 just looked new as opposed to a 03-04 if it was it was really clean. But ya I went from 2nd at 20ish and my car had a helluva time getting up into the rpms even with the 3.90s. I wish I coulda had time to downshift to 1st. Woulda been 4k at 25mph to start with

I bet he wasn't expecting you pull him that hard, I was shocked at how bad you beat him in 2nd gear until I saw you had an LS6 crate engine

Ya I didn't start really pulling until higher up in 2nd but by the time I was done I easily put my blinker on and got in front of him in his lane to avoid traffic lol

Race him for a few bucks of a full tank of gas. You should win that. Those things are slower then they look. They def. look the part.

OP, I wouldn't expect anything different, especially from an LS6 with bolt ons, even in the wrong gear. I had a moment like that where I wished i was in 1st and not 2nd... Ran into a charger and had the same bullshit not too far back. Only difference is he let off before I could pull right past him and he blew past me while I was turning. LOL

Either way, good kill. Always good to kick some dudes off their high horses sometimes.

my wife has a g35 with the same vq engine , they have peaky horse power but no torque what so ever , unlike our lsx's ftw

You shouldnt have a problem with a 350. The 370's are much quicker but still shouldnt beat a good ls1 and driver.

And I havent actually been to the track yet with everything in the car. I'm away at college and the only track around here is Orlando speed world.

I'm also waiting for my buddy down home to finish his H/C swap and we're gonna line em up at PBIR I know he's gonna kill me (EPS 230/238, Katech 243's) but it should be fun. Next month when I go home I'm also gonna rip out my bbk lt's as they're getting rusty, swap in some 1-7/8" arh's and redo the system up to the bassani x-pipe to fix some rattles, so hopefully I'll pick up a little there with the bigger lt's.

I'd be really happy with a 1161-117 trap which I think is possible with what its making 390whp. Times are anyones guess lol depends on how I'm driving and the track prep.
