Default HCI Ls1 TA vs Big cam Lt1 Formula

Local forum guy recently made some additions to his Lt1 car and has been wanting a run with me, he figured on losing but wanted to try because he hung with another H/C Ls1 car and wanted to see how he would do.

LT1, Big cam, Gears, stall, Bolt ons, NT05R, weight reduction.
LS1, AI heads, mild cam, fast 90, stall and some minor weight reduction on a Hoosier Drag radial

He asked for the hit so I let him have it both runs.

Nice runs, knew the lt1 was in trouble with the mods on the ls1.

Says big cam for the lt1, stock or ported heads?

Hes giving up quite a bit with out the heads being ported. Know if he has any plans to get them ported?

Race would be much closer but I think the ls1 would still take it given how bad you pulled him.

LT1 needs some ported heads!! Even some ported stockers would help him out a bit. Although if he's not running too high of lift he should be alright, do you know the specs of the cam?

certainly what I expected. good runs. looks like he'd be a better run for a bolt on ls1 car.

Yup he would benefit greatly from ported stock heads, I don't think LT1 heads flow very well past .550 lift

Ported heads will help him, but it won't save him from another ride on the rape train

Considering his mods in sig and the vid, he's probably putting down 420-430whp.

Correct 428whp shutting down at 6.2k rpm on the dyno so maybe a few more ponies left.
More importantly than the dyno, my car is a consistent 11.0@123 car in mediocre DA

His car launches good, but not enough to stay up in speed.

Bro, what's wrong with your car? You should be trapping 135 at that power level.

Mediocre at best.
