Default 02 z28 vs 03 gt

On my way to school this morning I see a gray gt with a nice hood and spoiler up ahead of me, I follow him and as it just so happens we meet up at the light about a half mile away from the parking garage. I knew I was gonna spin pretty bad the roads here suck and I'm on street tires but whatever.

Anyway the light turns green and I hear him hook and take off, the minute I mash the pedal my car starts fishtailing all through first gear and even though he dead hooked he's actually just staying even with me. Well I grab 2nd and hook up finally and then it was all over by the time I grabbed 3rd at 6500 he was a solid 3 cars back.

So all in all a good breakfast for the camaro. Ended up though that he was parking where I was. I got out of my car and could see and smell the burnt rubber on my back quarters ( I need a DR ). We get out and exchange congrats and compliment eachothers cars, overall really cool guy. Then he says "man I thought I had you in first, then you hit 2nd and just left me, I couldnt believe it." after I told him the mods and how I spun in all of first it made sense to him. He's getting a ZEX wet kit and spraying a 100 shot and wants to go again, in which case I'm def going to need a tire lol.

Nice job! Another great reason why I traded my 04 Mustang GT for my 2000 SS lol

Good kill. I don't think he'll get him either if he can get his car to hook.

lol I'm 300 lbs behind Doug in the weight reduction dept so not yet. I got the ls6 motor from a buddy with 8000 miles on it for 1100 so I couldnt resist lol then sold the ls1 longblock for 650.

I suppose I am copying hio a bit I just picked up a Vengeance Ported FAST 92 that I'm gonna swap out the ls6 mani for. Trying to do the same thing you and HIO are, squeezing all the hp out of a stock motor. I'm debating a meziere eventually but the jury's out on whether they actually help hp and I'm not sure about having one on a DD in college. The tires will come after I finish these KDW II's up

Also he just texted me his full mod list. Steeda CAI, 70MM accufab tb, full exhaust, ford racing intake, bama 93 tune, and 30lb injectors

well youre on the right path. Get some weight out of it... id go with an EWP dead last. For the money, they are worth the least in the grand scheme of things. They make one for my car too. I dont even know if ill ever get one.

Ya its 3480 without me in it fully loaded leather car. It's a bitch when you dont want to lose creature comforts or safety but still want to drop weight. When I take it to the track I drop 100lbs out of it easily. Spare tire/jack come out -40lbs and then I take the sub box and amp out which is -55lbs. But for DD'ing in college they're in lol.

I saw you were thinking about the cobra jet intake... Still doing that? The only reason I'm doing the fast is because I got a good deal on the 92. I'm just gonna sit on it and wait till I find a good deal on a tb. I'm expecting to keep the same powerband up to 3500 then hopefully be on par with Hio and others who have done the swap with a bolt on ls6 and gain 13-15 hp/tq from there. Its much easier to gain hp than cut weight for track times lol. The EWP just doesnt seem worth it for the gain and reliability uncertainty.

Guy on another board thinks the CJ intake is going to hurt you...then again, he thinks the Boss intake is just hype.

ford claims that the cobra jet shouldn't lose anything over the boss from what I've read and even if it did lose 10tq at 3500 who the hell races there lol. it honestly sounds like the same complaints people used to have about fasts on stock long blocks in the gm world.... if you're going for an all out bolt on car then the fast is worth it in the gm world and I'd imagine the cobra jet is worth it as long as you're comfortable shifting at 8300 rpm lol

and so evan when's the intake arriving lol
