Intake/longtube LS2 GTO vs: LS2 C6 vette, camaro SS, Saleen S281, RB25 240SX *VID*

Just put this one together from a bunch of recent runs the old GTO has gotten. Enjoy!

And watch in HD!

Good runs

senicalj4579 05-05-2013 05:01 PM

Good tune in the beginning for the old school crowd :headbang: :secret2:. That camaro ss jumped the gun (nice seeing a dig race).
Your GTO matched up with the vette pretty well.
Cool vid and good runs.

 The GTO never disappoints

I wonder if this will go 90 pages. Good kill.

This is the second poweradded 4v you guys take down correct?

:jest:

It is a 2v derp.

HCI2000SS 05-05-2013 05:53 PM

That GTO runs unusually strong! Nice job!

Says it has a cobra eaton swap.

The blower not the motor.

callmedoc 05-05-2013 06:33 PM

So basically it takes headers/intake/exhaust for an LS2 6-speed goat to run with an LS2 C6?

Is that a Z51 car in the vid?

Intake, Headers, Tune...stock catback. Not sure if the vette was a Z51 car. We just ran into the kid the other night and chatted a bit before the run went down. Never found that out.

Cool man. Nice runs and good luck with your GTO.

Thanks bud! And as for the song, my brother (GTO owner) wasn't sure if he liked that song for the vid :gtfo:

No it sure doesn't. Funny how great of a match up it is for such a wide range of cars!

Actually, the GTO took down an eaton swapped 4 valve mach 1 multiple times, and then again once he added longtube headers to the stang. The saleen owner is a buddy of ours and made the same power as the mach 1, and the outcome was basically the same as well. Seems like the eaton cars have no balls right off the hit and they always have to play catch up, but by that time it's the top of 4th gear and already too late. :)

evangto87 05-05-2013 08:29 PM

Ill come back up soon in attempt to defend the 4vs :)

I think we all know that eaton mach is very weak for what it is. I am by no means a eaton fan but the one thing they do have going for them is the hit.

And a big 6.0 powered GTO isn't known for a hard hit? I can respect all cars, but we're 3 for 3 wins where we race, and I really can't see the outcome differing much over these runs with any other similarly modded stang. I mean, sure, if you had a full bolt on, 4.10 geared, eaton swapped mach with the stig driving it, it may do better...but this is just an intake/longtube GTO in the end and is considered extremely mild compared to the boosted stangs we've ran.

Really hope this doesn't turn into a big stink fest again, BTW. Just trying to shed a little real world experience on the whole "should have, could have" mindset.

Yea I forget how well know a gto hit is :eyes: It runs good for a car with a intake, l/ts, exhaust and tune better then 99 percent of gtos out there with similar mods. Again not trying to turn this into a crap storm you beat the eaton mach and a win is a win. However you are crazy to think it would take all that in a good running/driven mach just to run with that gto. That runs even with a stock c6? I have real world experience with a good running eaton mach. Again I hate the eaton but it is what it is.

Ju1ce 05-05-2013 10:04 PM

Good runs!
This GTO runs right about where my experience has shown they run.
There's a few members on this board (one's with built heads/cam GTOs) who can barely pull a c6... hopefully they don't weigh in on this thread!

Oh and don't feed the troll. On one hand he wants to proclaim how fast the cars that he fanboi's for are, and on the other he will not accept that there's a lot of bad GTO drivers out there. Total hypocrite, right in line with most mustang owners.
