Default 06 GTO vs 01 Cobra

GTO:
-Vararam
-Ported TB
-FAST102
-Kooks Coated/Stepped Headers
-Catless
-Corsa 3.91 Gears
-Monster Lvl1 Twin Disk
-HPTuners

Cobra:
-CAI
-Headers
-Flowmasters
-3.73 Gears
-Diablosport Handheld Tuner

I told him to ditch the flowmasters, get a real dyno tune, and pickup 25+whp.

From the same night, 10 second GTR (only running 93oct that night) made a solo dig run.

300 lbs? I'd venture a guess that it's closer to about 100 lbs difference. GTO's aren't that heavy.

Those N/A cobras are turds. Wish I could have seen how bad you actually beat him but the camera never aimed back.

GTO curb is 3725, 01 Cobra curb is 3430 I believe.

3725 is for an auto GTO with 18's and full options. A manual trans car with the factory 17's is roughly 3650, and if you have longtubes and an aftermarket exhaust, you'll drop even more. I'd say theres less than a 200 lbs difference...maybe 175 tops. I'd weigh your car to get an idea. Guarantee you'll be surprised!

Oh yea, I've weighed my car. I'm at 3575 right now I was just saying stock vs stock. He should have had some weight reduction too. But I could have sworn the manual with 18s was 3725.

Not surprised at all. You probably have close to 100rwhp on him. N/A Cobras are turds, as stated above.

It also doesn't help that most people I see kicking around weights don't hit the scale with a full tank of gas either. It does make a difference... even with the example you gave (3725lbs) a full tank vs near empty is 100lbs off (less 16 gallons).

OK that may be true, but it still doesn't matter if Ford and GM both rated them with a full tank of gas.

Everyone on LS1GTO is now telling me that the Mach1 is considered faster. I didn't know that at the time. I just googled the specs and saw it made more power than a Mach1 and I had lost by a length to a Bolt-on Mach1 when I was stock. I also am 180lbs and my passenger was 200lbs while they were 150lbs and 160lbs, so there's even more weight advantage to the Cobra. Also, it would have been better if he had a real exhaust that didn't kill his top end and a real tune.

Again, wasn't expecting to lose, just wasn't expecting to yank him.

Why not?? With the mods on the cobra he would be lucky to make much over 300rwhp. A stock LS1 F-body would give him a good run. And probably end up winning on top end also.

Ok maybe I'm giving him too much credit. Ignore me, enjoy the Ford getting raped guys. Btw, he wouldn't even send me his footage after.

I'll find a pullied bolt-on Termi Cobra to run and I have an 07 R6 lined up for when I get my cam in.
