Default Intake/longtube LS2 GTO vs H/C LQ4 91 Trans Am **VID**

My brother just got his 91 bird up and running with his new engine combo a few weeks ago, and I basically have the tune about as good as it's going to get for a street tune. We wanted to see what it could do, so we lined it up with his 06 GTO for a baseline. I'm driving the GTO, and theres a passenger in each car. GTO has gone 12.4 at 114 mph, and both cars are very close in weight. Guessing the bird is around 440-450 rwhp currently based on the results. Couldn't fully run out 4th gear in any of the runs because of traffic, but you get the idea! Car mods in vid.

Enjoy!

If the GTO is a 12.4 car, that looks like the TA is breaking into the 11's!

Thanks everyone! Car is definitely not disappointing my brother at all. Now we just need to get some more runs in with it.

TA should be well into the 11's! Hoping for around a 119-120 mph trap out of it how it sits.

IF the cars are similiar in weight then the bird has probably 50rwhp more then the GTO. I just gotta ask how he got a GTO down to 3300lbs? Basic weight loss gets a GTO to 3550-3600. LSx conversion 3rd gen firebirds are 3200-3300.

The cars aren't exactly the same weight. About 100 pounds give or take. GTO does have basic weight loss. Firebird is a pig for what it is. Full weight car, full fourth gen leather interior (power seats) Moser 12 bolt rear... Firebird is slightly over 3400lbs. A Diet is my next mod for it! lol

That is pretty heavy for a 3rd gen.

My camaro with a sub and me in it weighed 3400.

Also, very impressed with your GTO's time. What was the DA on that pass?

Yea she's a fatty...but I guess on a positive note it gives me one more thing to improve upon. I'm going to be ditching the leather seats in favor of some corbeaus, and doing a tubular K + A arms. Should free up a solid 100 pounds.

I am not positive off the top of my head what the DA was with the GTO. I just checked my time slip and it didn't say anywhere on it.
