Default Why are GTRs so slow?? vid added

For having a $50 million transmission, two turbos and boosting 85lbs, why the **** are they so slow!??!??!

I ran an alpha 9 last night.. 750awhp and unless he was sitting in his power band at like 6k rpm he had so much trouble with my V.... My single power adder 11psi 4 door V... His race car just couldn't get around it for about 1.5-2 gears if he would leave under that 5-6k rpm mark....

Had a couple runs where he would jump out and I'd be right there until he hit his warp speed 89psi. Then we had another run where I believe he said he was sitting around 3k rpm and I jumped like 1-2 cars on him and held it up until 4th where he passed me pretty hard. Then when we went again and he was at 6k rpm he just straight pulled me like an airplane.

So my question stands.. Why are these **** turds for so much **** they got so slow? I know if I had 750awhp I would straight pull any 600whp with the same weight instantly and from any rpm, why can't these big boys do that? They need like their 8th setting on, they need the universes to align and they need to start at 18k rpm if not they just chase you. I think you GTR boys need to learn how to counter act turbo lag and being to spool early.

On a side note I may be buying a GTR.

It's an alpha 9, don't think their tunes are shitty!

I think it goes more towards the fact that they make the torque of a n/a honda. I think he has sub 600 torque.

Is your god damn 5th gen build ready yet? I think I'm going for a twin 6266 build for mine with an LQ9.

Answer: High Moment of Inertia and a lack of Low End Torque.

(But, you already knew that. You were just stirring the pot, correct?)

I don't stir the pot sir. I ask questions and seek answers.... I am a modern day miner of information... information I seek out through the crevices of the modern world wide web.

i think i read somewhere that you can't "brake boost" a GTR? or there was some kind of system you had to install so that you could?

sounds like you found a *gasp* bad driver in a GTR!?

IDK about a stock GTR, but, you don't want to come up against "Godzilla" 1000 HP GTR. We did & it wasn't pretty. For all we knew, it was stock when we happened to follow it onto the freeway. After getting a$$raped twice, he told us what it was. Nice guy, too.

Yah, I was off topic a bit.

IMO, the GTR is a road course car, not a straight line racer. So, in the road course environment, they are not so slow. On a road course the GTR may be on here asking why your car is so slow.

Similar to a boxer vs MMA fighter in MMA rules = MMA fighter wins

boxer vs MMA fighter in boxing only rules = Boxer wins

You must have raced one with a **** tune.

I raced one making 650whp and put two cars on him. I was only making 550whp at the time.

They don't lack low end torque unless the tuner sucks or the owner is claiming flywheel horsepower. Also the AMS Alpha 9 is a kit. You can get the kit tuned by anyone. It doesn't need to get tuned by AMS. If the owner in the video is claiming wheel horsepower, something is really wrong with that car.

But on a serious note, bigger motor = more low end torque.

you cant brake boost a gtr stock , you have to buy a key fob thing , and install it . But their is a way around it , i guess you press this button on a key fob and hold it and you can brake boost, it cuts signal to the pcm from the brake pedal .

But in short cant be done from the factory and their is a way around it .

I've always been white you peasant.

Yeah I totally would get a GTR. What's gayer faster and stronger? I mean all I gotta do is point accelerate and lol at everyone as my $13 billion transmission rapes them but when I break it I will have to leave the car due to lack of funding to fix it!
