02 ss vs 11 5.0
#5
the new 5.0's aren't the second coming but... pretty impressive to catch up to (surpass stock v stock) what is its direct rival, the 5th gen SS.. straight line acceleration (before the lap times get brought up lol) which is all I care about and am pretty sure about 90% of those in this section as well.. Lets hope the new LT1's will put the coyote's back where they belong.. 2nd place (stock v stock)

The current SS is a heavy car, but the next Mustang will either get physically smaller, like the next Camaro will be, or it will likely gain weight or get a massive price increase to cover costs for the use of lighter materials. It just is what it is. Thing is, electronics and government regulations pretty much always add weight and today, cars are quite different than the "slap together" stuff we got in even the 1990's.

Or the GT500... Z/28 is no standard Camaro and while I think I'd like to have one, it's not a car you can legitimately drive daily unless you're fairly wealthy and/or fairly crazy. Same for the GT500 and ZL1 impo.
