Default 08 bmw m5 vs 99 Camaro z28

My brother is getting an 08 ( stock ) bmw m5 next week. How would a race be between that and my 99 z28? Add ons are below for mine:

- slp lid/ ssra/ fra / smooth below
- slp loudmouth cat back exhaust
- weight reduction: back seats / all hardware / spare tire and jack

From a roll, its going to walk you. From a dig, its going to be closer, but its going to walk you.
M5 V10 is probably putting something like 420 to the wheels.

Then again, you never know until you run it so...

What would be the first things you'd to do to make it closer and maybe pull out the win?

Here's a great idea. He's new to BMW I'm sure and has no idea that in order to unleash the full 500hp, you need to have it selected in Idrive. It's called p500 mode. So, make sure he's in p400 mode and it will be a much much closer race. P400 is 400hp.

I've actually been thinking about that anyway. What would be the best/most powerful cam for both street and strip for ls1

What is a SSRA? FRA?

Here's an example of what you face: this is when I was 435rwhp thru a high stalled unlocked auto (had maf issues that put car into reduced power mode. fixed yesterday). Vid doesn't get my side mirrors - I changed my passenger seat position which moved it out of position to see mirrors. I stopped his pull and walked away convincingly. 3 different runs proved to him he had no chance.

This was enough to beat a shabbily driven ZL1 camaro,

but not enough to beat a full bolton, heads/cam/gears LS1 camaro that pulled me on the top end:

That 402 GTO should walk a basic HCI LS1. SSRA= Super Sucker Ram Air. It's basically a true ram air system for our cars

?? I'm a bit lost at the comparo... M6 vs 402ci bolton+cam GTO \=\ M5 vs light bolt on Z28. I know you're glad to finally have your intake setup fixed now though. LOL

Headers, cam, tune... or a buckshot and some loose change of dope + tune.

You're assed out. Your best bet is to give him 1 run from a dig, don't spin, and hope he does.

I had a full bolt ons with my camaro and till about 80mph it was close but after that it walked away. I tried once with it at higher speeds from 75mph roll to 143-145mph which at the time was the top of my 5th. I got walked bad. The higher the speed the worse off you are. With nitrous that would've not happened but he wanted me to run N/A, ive never been shy about losing he knew and i that it wasnt going to be pleasant for him if im on the juice. Either way, you would need full bolt ons+cam with a good tune to keep up or slightly pull. Thats my experience with M5, i sold my camaro and the guy with the M5 is supercharged now, lol.
