Why does it take so long for a 900hp car to pull around the merc?

Thats what i was thinking. No disrespect but that wasn't impressive by any means. A 427ci with a 94mm turbo should be moving out far better than that even with a 6speed.

brb weighing less having 400rwhp more and still not being able to freight train.

camaro needs either better suspension or better setup in general.

Thanks a lot guy! Everybody knew that SLS was going to get beaten, we just wanted to how bad would it be. Also it turned out to be a good refference since the camaro wasn't finished the last time they raced. I don't think there's a 400 hp difference, but that's what the owner of the car told me...

Wow that camaro is incredibly slow.

I would expect a decent 427 camaro to pull that hard or harder N/A.....nevermind with a big turbo hanging off of it.

My guess is he's running at lower boost than that 900whp mark. I never run at full boost on the street as there is no point in excessive spinning. He's probably running around 10psi at around 550-650whp.

Good races. But to add my o2. I dont think there is an SLS AMG that makes 510hp. The 2 most standard versions make 563hp and then a 583hp GT version. Theres also a black series with 620hp etc. I raced one of these cars a few months ago on the highway but the 583hp GT version (killer looking car)......And based off my results with that car....either somethings wrong with that camaro or he forgot to attach the charge pipe to the throttle body. Because the 563hp SLS is a tad slower then a C6 Z06. We downshifted and he just took off. I stopped his pull and just sat on his bumper for 3 gears. I tried to get a second run where we hit evenly but he had to take his exit. The 563hp SLS real world traps roughly 122-123. Sure they have there runs of 125-126... but they are far less common. And the transmissions in these cars make a bad driver hard to exist. Id sure like to know what the deal is with this camaro... a 900whp 427ci turbo fourth gen should spank the living bejesus out of a 123mph car. Let alone with the passenger as well.

Wasn't going to throw my ricer math comparison in here but here it goes. When I was running a bolt on tuned c6z06 I walked it harder than this video and was on low/med boost which is around 600-625whp. I agree that he's not running at 900whp or something is seriously wrong. Gotta love automatic turbo cars. It always makes it harder to pull when you lose spool between shifts with a manual.

see at the 1:35 mark

Well the SLS in this vid is a first gen which produces 563hp but if you look carefully you will see that the pulls were done in a 3000+ft place wich cause 10% loss on NA cars which is SLS. Thats why i have wrote down 510hp. Yes its a killer looking car and yes its transmission make things a lot easier for the driver.

On the other hand for the camaro, i also think that its not 900hp. Not even close. But thats what the owner told me...

The issue is gearing. Get rid of STEEP gears in your turbo cars people. Seriously.

It isn't about the QUICK acceleration in a turbo car,..you wanna generate some load,..3.42, 3.73, 3.90, 4.10/11 or steeper, will not cut it unless your trans gears are longer.

I don't know what gear that camaro has but he woulda been better off starting off in a higher gear instead of the PUNCH IT, then SHIFT a second after you go WOT.

My car got FASTER when I ditched my 3.42's and went with a numerically lower gear. People sift 2times compared to my 1 time. Makes a MAJOR difference, especially in a 6speed manual.

Gearing didn't help, but the issue is the car doesn't make power.

turn your speakers up...he is up on the limiter each kick except the first run. If he had a longer gear and some tire on that car it would look completely different.
