Default Bolt-on tuned 02 SS vs heads/cam/bolt-on 03 GT

Bad ending for the mustang. Sorry, my girlfriend had no idea how to film. I pulled him hard though. He has all boltons with trick flow heads and cams, not sure what size.

Mods on your SS? Not that many mods are needed to beat a slower then ***** '03 heads/cams/boltons GT from a roll. Did he gut his car like most Honda driver.... err, I mean Mustang drivers do?

If you are just bolt ons only i'm surprised you pulled that hard. With that Trickflow top end he should be making similar power as you, and is a bit lighter on top of it

Ahh ok, that explains the immediate pull when you guys took off. What gears do both cars have?

You can't tell from the video, but did you continue to pull on him, or did it kind of level out after a few seconds?

Sounds like you could both benefit from a gear change . If I were him, I would get 4.10s. He's moved the powerband of his engine higher in the rpm range, he needs to take advantage of it. Don't fear the gear!

Exactly! The 4.6 mod motor already suffers down low. Add a good HCI to it and I bet it's a real dog down low lol

I planned on doing 4.10s when I had my '01 GT, and all I had were a few simple bolt-ons. On a heads/cams car, that would be a no-brainer for me. Has either car been put on the dyno, OP?

I don't know if any of you are familiar with John Tymensky when it comes to the 4.6 mod motor (he is refered to as the "Modfather" lol) but he said to me one time that he actually prefers 4.30"s and 4.56's in his 4.6 mod builds.

If I had a 4v car it would get 4.30s no question.

Gear helps compensate for lack of power.
