He loses all credibility though because he is in Chi-town and still has no ***** to run his car on E85 - which would really wake it up with proper tuning.
Nice run for the Cobalt. Those little LNFs are pretty awesome with minimal mods. Now if only one could say the same about their transmissions.

Hugger had an LNF turbo Cobalt sedan, then sold it for the HHR to accommodate a growing family.

Kinda looked like the C/S Mustang was kinda playing around. Maybe it wasn't, but it seemed to pull away and "get caught" and pull away again. The Cobalt SS Turbo is still a neat exercise in futility and was, for the money, the hands down best in its class. Of course, it wasn't the best, but the 2 better were some $10,000 more expensive... and AWD, which kinda changes the class anyway.
I don't know why anyone is knuckle-headed enough to think the Mustang guys are upset about the results. It was clearly the more capable car the instant it was built. Plus, it's not like anyone other than the owner needs to care because it was whatever it was. We don't know that it was driven well. We don't know that it wasn't. We don't know if it was a roll race(of course it was) or the mph started. We don't know the speeds reached... This "race" was a typical street race and in the end, we saw tail lights of a Mustang... Who won?
Well, it's not easy to argue that Supras aren't gay once you've said so... After all, if anyone here knows what gay is, I'm fairly sure it's you. I just hope your "friends" aren't afraid of you because of your S/N...

GM did some really impressive things with the Ecotec platform a few years back. I remember an article about GM having 4 brought out to a strip, the slowest one running 13.1. I would never own a FWD to race, in fact, I will never own another FWD unless I am forced to by a Communist government!
My Cobalt SS/SC was a DD, and that was my only purpose. It hurt a lot of 4.6 2V ('96-'98) Stangs feelings as well, from a roll, but I didn't buy it for that reason. It was simply my DD, and it was good at it, even though it powered the wrong wheels.

I didn't know about the article, but it sounds like more of what they should've produced...

2 buddies of mine used to race all the time..
01 WS6- bolt ons/cam 390/370
09 Cobalt- bolt ons/23psi tune 310/340
From a roll the cobalt would usually end up 1/2 car length back, right around the door...

Part of my point was, we really don't know enough about the cars. For all we know, it was more powerful than it seemed and just playing.
I settled this time and I'm okay with it because it's like your Cobalt was... DD with no racing in mind. I've owned 3 others before, 2 winter beaters(when I lived up north) and 1 was literally given to me by my next door neighbor. I miss AWD, but my next will be either AWD or 4X4 because there are still too many quirks with the way a FWD handles for me.
