Default 1999 Trans Am vs 2004 Mach 1

So yesterday I got a chance to race both of my cars, I recently purchased a Torch Red 2004 Mach 1, and a few months bad picked up a 99 Trans am for cheap. Was heading to a car show and my brother decided to tag along so I had him hop in the Trans Am and I was in the Mustang. Here is a quick run down of both cars.

Trans Am-
Auto, Lid, Longtubes, true duals, 4.10 gears and a frost tune

Mach 1-
5 speed, Mrt ram air, Pro-M mass air meter, off road h pipe, Super 44's and a Steeda Tri-ax.

We got 2 dig races in, both cars left pretty even and was door to door until I got into 4th in the mustang and pulled about a car and a half.

Next race was a 40 roll and was dead even until about 115 then the mustang pulled maybe a half car.

Overall kinda surprised by the outcome I figured the Trans am would have beat the mustang but the edge deff went to the stick car. No Doubt if the Trans am was a 6 speed car it would have been murder. Even tho the mustang is fairly stock when my 6 speed Camaro was just bolt ons its deff felt much stronger.

VIDEO ADDED ON PAGE 4.

For being on a stock stall if runs pretty damn good, I was on the fence about throwing a converter in it but i think im gonna sell the car and buy a blower for the mustang.

...or sell the mustang and get a blower+stall for the TA. You'd be faster .

Not a fanboy here, but I think there is something wrong with that TA, or that Mach isn't on factory 3.55 gears. A minor bolt on/geared T/A should have destroyed what amounts to a factory Mach.

The mach is deff on stock 3.55 gears, I think the edge is really stick vs auto in this case I was just able to row the gears a little faster and i had more rpm to work with.

Even tho I thought it would have been the T/A by a little but it just wasn't. I think if the Trans Am had a better tune and not a mail order it might have been maybe a little different idk, I don't really care I enjoy both cars for what they are. Like I said tho if it were a 6 speed ls1 it would have been a totally different outcome.

I don't see why people get all bent out of shape on races like this. Isn't the Mach 1 a little lighter?

Back when my Z28 was stock (SLP lid only at the time), I raced my friends yellow 03 mach 1. He had full exhaust and CAI. Both cars are manual. We did 2 dig races, both of which I pulled a few cars (probably because I launched great, hooked up immediately). Then in the rolls, he got about half a car every time, until maybe 110-115 when I got a fender on him, if that. All I'm saying is Mach's aren't bad cars, don't be so quick to assume that an LS1 Fbody will always win. I thought I was gunna walk my friends mach, didn't happen like that

Good run.
Mach's are very similar to GTs of that year..Really not to much difference. You should of had more cars on that stang.

I like races like this. Because all cars aren't the same and in the real world the expected doesn't ways happen.

Good runs. I would have thought like you, that the T/A would have pulled, but I like this outcome much better

ls1's are in a different league than mach's. In the past 2 years I have not witnessed a single mach 1 touch 12's.

I agree totally with you. There are none in the 12's.
Mach 1s are the only cars that actually get slower with mods.

Lol. Just busting your *****, man..

The mach 1 does look pretty good. They are both close in terms of performance.

You posting a video of that Mach beating your T/A will cause this place to go into melt down mode
