Default 98' T/A vs 392 challenger

Coming home from work late last night I had a beautiful challenger pull up next to me at a light. I had my cutout open and to my surprise the owner asked me if I wanted to run. Of course it's not every day that I get a chance to race. I said sure we'll go on green. Light turns green and we're off. I stayed next to him til about 100 and slowed down. He ask me to get on the highway. I told him I wanted a 60 roll and he lines up. I put my car in 2nd gear and starts the honks. On the third honk I punch it and immediately put it in drive. He flew by me like I wasn't accelerating. These Mopars are no joke.

You think I should have done better? He as over 100hp more than I do. From a dig for some odd reason I did a lot better not sure why. I tell you that I need a cam and stall or a 100 shot to compete.

Because autos and higher speed rolls aren't the best mix.

Good runs though.

I've seen these cars dyno around 410-420 rwhp stock, and at a weight of 4000 plus lbs. I don't think he would pull you that hard with you at 340 rwhp if he was truly stock...that's all i'm saying

You do just a cam only and you should smoke him

You won from a dig because getting 4200 lbs moving is no small feat, even with 470 hp. During roll races the mass is already in motion so the need to overcome inertia sint there and weight becomes less of a factor.

YEPPPPPPPP lol quoted for truth

Yes because the stock stall sucks, its way too tight. Especially after the car shifts into the next gear the shift extension is like 3800 on a stock stall. To put this in a better perspective go race a stock ls1 fbody with a t56. I'm willing to bet you'll get absolutely skull fucked from a roll lol. The a4 just inst the best for roll racing without a converter.

Put a decent converter in that car and you'll drop .5 in the quarter easy. plus it'll drive like a whole new animal. Good runs though! Just time to mod up

I love the looks of the Challenger. Every time I see one, the more I want it. There's a 392 parked on the street in my neighborhood I just walked past...orange with black stripe. Love it.

Yes you can tune the 392s now look at my sig Mine trapped 114 mph stock and some have been 115 mph. A 60 roll is his sweet spot if he is a A5.

Make sure you get the A5. 6SPD cars are hard to get good times with. Roll racing they are good though.

Good death, I figured you would do a little better from a roll. Probably a 3 car gap, but I would guess one would def get ya. Honorable death. They are very cool cars. They set out to do what they intended too at the end of the day.

Random note, why does the torque on your car seem low to me? I did 355 with minor bolt ons sae corrected on a dynoket? Are the 01-02s that much torquier or what?

All the 98-00 seem to dyno a far bit less torque than the 01-02, maybe its just me.?

Dude, we have been trying to tell you that your car runs harder and makes more power than your average bolt-on LS1.
