Lol i believe that is what the title should be about. Everyone has a different view on race trim and street trim period. Don't like it tough ****, also don't agree to race someone if you think their car is race trim period!

This, usually these threads start because someone puts alot of time and effort into a build to only realize how slow there junk still is so to justify the effort they pose this question to feel better about their "true street car" and omit all the faster cars as racecars.
Let me be straight. In our racing society , this questions comes up all the time , Specially now days when cars are going faster and faster on dragradials. What would you consider a Street Car.??? <- very simple question...
Would you see it fair that a car fully striped, more or less a "tin can" be allowed on the same True Street Class as you?? I doubt it.
Moreover , Im specially interested in all these cars such as for example the ones in "Street Outlaws" to be or not considered a "street car" when they dont even, ever drive them...

I agree with this totally. But regardless there is still somewhat of a good point here in extreme situations.
IMO You need to have...
-All safety features required for DOT registration/insurance.
-Full interior(yes you can do silly **** like rear seat deletes)
-2 Seats that an adult can sit SAFELY in.
-Factory Firewall
-Stock engine fenders(No fabrication to dump your twin 88mm turbos straight out because you re-arranged your radiator to make room for piping. No fabrication to drop your LSx into a ******* integra)
-Non Slick Tires(It can be a street car but once the slicks come on its in "race trim." Put DRs/street tires back on and you are back in "street trim.")
-Sumped fuel tank(No fuel cells + monster returnless systems so you can power your 1500HP powerglide chevelle)
-No launch disaster prevention(Chutes, Bars, etc)
-Required features that allow you to do what a "street car" is intended to do.....go to work....do 30 min -1 hour errand runs etc.(If your tiny front drag brakes arent even touching the rotor and are overwhelmed after 10 minutes of city traffic you arent street)
-Valve train must be able to idle by itself(If your cams slobber all over themselves so bad your car chokes itself out if you dont give it throttle every 5-10 seconds - your street days are over)

i think you are missing the point, in the eyes of the various motorsports associations a street car is a vehicle that is registered, insured, working lights, and able to be driven atleast 50 miles. so no matter what you think a street car is or i think it is is just a matter of opinion. so when your
gets beat by just remember, he still cant beat
BECAUSE RACE CAR!!!!!

i think op has a point, ive discussed it before, specificly "street outlaws" because of the claim every single episode25 times 'fastest street cars'.
but anyways on to my 2 cents...
registered. insured. working windows. 75% of interior. dot tires. and a radio, cuz who the **** wants to drive on the street without a radio!!

When people obviously have done modifications, that sacrifice safety/ease of driving, to increase their speed and play it off like it's a factory Cadillac, that's what brings the LoLz for me

Agreed. "we have the fastest street cars in the nation", those are NOT street cars. If you have to trailer your ride to the race, then youve just answered the question. You guys on here with awsome cars that you drive everyday or take to the track, swap out wheels and tires, run tens or less then drive home; thats bad *** street car! Kudos to yall!
