Default H/C C5 Z06 vs H/C/Nos G8 GT *Vid*

A friend connected me with a local guy with a BEAUTIFUL modded C5 Z06. The car has Heads, Cam, Bolt ons etc etc. No track times for his latest setup, but he told me before he did the heads and cam he trapped 122 with bolt ons. He told me he expected his car to run high 10s as it sits...

I'm spraying 125 shot from my zex kit with a full bottle and drag radials so no wheel spin for once. I have no track times with this setup, but I run high 11's all day on street tires.

40-130ish. I didn't hear the horn so he got the jump on me by a car length

So he trapped 122 without heads or cam? Strong car before. Nice pull on it, thanks for sharing.

That's what he told me. That is bolt on LS3 C6 territory.

I was thinking 118-119, but then again, get some good weather, a nice tail wind, a little bit of tire spin off the line an who knows.

He now has a H/C car making 460rwhp so what would that trap? should be in the 124-126 range?

I didn't ask. He wasn't very talkative. It didn't really matter to me what he did with the car before he did the H/C since that is the conditions we are racing under now. Ironically about 4 years ago I ran into him on the street and he destroyed me when I was intake and tune. Small world.

I'm going to assume he did that at sac when their timing system wasn't 100% on point.

I mean, a H/C C5Z making 460whp, I'd expect it to trap at least 126mph with good driving. I just think his numbers are inflated a bit that's all. Not trying to take anything away from your car because it rolls out hard!

Ya it doesn't matter I was just curious, I can't wait to see what u do at the track now. You'd Prolly be a good race for marlon with you on spray and his camaro on motor based off how you guys both did against the same C5Z

No worries man. I expect his car to roll hard too. I think it did. I just think the fact that I am making something like 600rwtq explains a lot in this vid

Marlon ran this guy in his camaro before. Gave me the run down on him. My boy knows the car well and the guy who built it. Said it was super stout. Hey we all have our good days and bad. Since I bumped up the shot and started rolling on DR's I've been having a lot of success.

A couple things I learned since the last time I sprayed since I am constantly tinkering and trying to get the most out of my setup...

Having a full bottle is a must

Having Drag Radials on lighter rims than 20s with street tires is a must

Having the window switch programmed higher is a must (6700rpm)

I'm going to hopefully run Marlon on Saturday. Him and his legendary over achieving Camaro. It will be a great benchmark until I can to a test and tune.

You may be right Rob. I think it was in Sac, but I'll have to verify that. With you behind the wheel of the Z it probably could trap that. He's not the worst shifter, but definitely not as fast a shifter as you. You ever decide on a new car yet?

Haha appreciate the love. Yea, I'm waiting until I graduate school next spring. Then it will most likely be a C6Z
