Default '01 WS6 cam/heads/stall vs BMW M6 & E63 AMG

I don't have any track times yet since I did a cam/heads but I was pretty excited I pulled on these two cars. Yesterday, late at night, I was coming back from a friends grad party and I ran into an '13+ M6. I saw the M6 in my rear view mirror and the headlights are pretty distinguishable. He flew by me going about 90+ mpg, as I was just cruzing at about 70~ mph, guess he was trying to show off the +$100k he spent on his car. So I flipped open my cut out and caught up next to him, honked and dropped my speed to about 60. Mind you it was around 1:30am and the roads were empty. Three quick honks and JUMPED hard on him and just started pulling away fast. Got to 130 and let off... got back down to about 70 and he kept by my side wanting to go again. He was probably shocked I walked him so fast. So again three honks and same thing, easily walked him. After that he just took off not wanting to mess with me again.... Knowing that is a high 11 seconds car, I am SO surprised how I pulled on him so hard.

About 10 mins later a '10-'11 model E63 AMG pulled up next to me, he must have seen us racing, so he was waving his hand forward wanting to race. So we both back down to about 60mph, gave him the three quick honks and I pulled on him pretty hard too. Faster than the M6. After that fun I let off, gave a rev, then he flew by with a big smile and thumbs up.

I really need to get some track times on my car soon. Just ordered a driveshaft safety loop for track requirements. But beating those two types of cars is one of the reasons why I still LOVE my LS1 and F-body. For a 13+ year old car and a few simple N/A mods, it holds it's own with any +100K on the road. I could easily afford plenty of nice newer cars, but I am pretty frugal with my money and I invest my money else instead of high-end cars that just depreciate. But I gotta say, that my build and the direction I took in Mods really impressed me.

Nice you have to be trapping 120 mph plus to pull on a E63 like that. Unless it was the older moldel.

An M6 now a days will run you $30k. Good runs though.

The E63 AMG was the older model, was not the Bi-turbo. The 2010-2011 model. MB is just now changing to E series model for the AMG.

So correction, not $100k, but still up there.

This exact, E63 AMG: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...tealthy-page-2

The M6 was the newest model. 2013+ Color was the Sakhir Orange Metallic.

This exact, M6: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...t-drive-review

So both cars are tested low 12's, maybe dipping into the 11s. Again, I really need to get some times on my car.

Well how sure are you it was an M6? The newer M6 should've held it's own a lot better than that. The newer M6's are 122+ trap cars.

Yes. It was the newer M6 body. Also it had the new adaptive headlights where they look square and I think the Orange Metallic is available only on the newer model. Unless the person didn't know how to drive, but I jumped hard on the third honk and just kept pacing ahead. He kept on my rear bumper most of the time but never was beside me.

They are f***ing sick cars though. I would only lease one and definitely get it tuned at a higher boost.

your car must be insanely powerfull for its mods... i test drove a new m6 and those things are no joke, i went from 40-145 in not much less than a 1/4 mile... i think even with what i make in my v it would be a close race... they just keep pulling up top, and the gearshifts are fast and they don't loose any boost gear to gear

Agreed. The newer M6s are no joke... It could be I got a good jump on him and just kept going. But 2 for 2 and gave him 3 honks. It wasn't like I beat him by many car lengths but I know I just kept gaining ground and he couldn't get beside me. They are heavy cars (4250 lb), so they are not going to be the fastest out there. Wasn't from a dig, so that may have not turned out as well.

I have a few weight reductions on my car and a ton of supporting mods so it is a fast little street car BUT now I really need to get some track times just to be certain.

you must make in the 450rwhp range and that is great especially with that cam and an auto... very impressive car
