Default Track Day and Highway Pulls z28, turbo TA, Firebird Formula and Random v6 5th Gen

So Hugger1975, 00FirebirdaREV, and I took a trip out to Great Lakes Dragway for some T&T. Afterwards there were some highway pulls that were done. There's alot of video's here so unfortunately it's going to be a long post. I'll try to make it tolerable.

Hugger1975 best run of the night ???@???mph

00FirebirdaREV best run of the night ???@???mph

Willizm 1st run of the night 9.81@139mph

Willizm 2nd run of the night 9.75@140mph

On our way back Hugger1975 and 00FirebirdaREV decided to do a couple pulls on the highway. Maybe they can chime in on what happened. I was towing so yeah, no racetruck action......this time. Some rando v6 5th gen revved by me to get up to 00FirebirdaREV. He was revving repeatedly next to the firebird to get him to go. It was going to be ugly. As soon as there was a straight they got on it.
*excuse my stupid commentary

Damnit.....I pulled off to get gas and you puppy kick a fif gen?

My vid was my best 60...not best et. Bottle ran out. Lol

60....1.66
Et...11.90
Trap...121

Took me all night to finally figure out my car liked: 15lb tires, a.good burn and 4500 drop.
Nailed down all the variables....then the bottle ran out on the best 60ft ive run. Doh

Awesome night and can't wait to go back as I've been disappointed several outings with launching.
And now know what she likes.

Good looking Camero, Hugger

Looks like it needs a drag bar.

Yeah, that would be a great run. 8 tenths is more or less a fender.

You'll have a far better chance of hitting 8's than me Dennis. I might be able to shave a little more time off but without seriously retooling the setup I don't think I'll get much more than a 9.4 out of it and that's highly optimistic for me.

I wouldn't be apposed to owning a termi some day. Stellar platforms for sure. I don't want to go to crazy with this car. I drive it around a ton and don't want to sacrifice too much just to get it that much faster. Plus I'd have to go t6 setup, bigger kit, kmember for 4" dp, and build up an iron block. My aluminum block probably has a few choice words for me

Thanks

It needs something.
Once I figured out what it wanted it was fun as hell.

I may not run the best times, but I was damn consistent and got faster as I ran.
Prob got 8-10passes in and not a hiccup.

People say the best set up gets the best times.
But it also gets you home 100 miles away after hot lapping it.

Single digits ftw. What was the 60' and 1/8th ET and mph on the fast pass?

The Viking DA coilovers have really helped the car out to feel more predictable. Times are pretty close. I stiffened up the rears a little on the second run but think I need to soften the fronts up just a little bit to get better weight transfer. btw, the right lane was f'd up all night so I stayed in the left

Very nice. Loosen the fronts all the way up and see if you can get the bumper.

Nice runs guys. Whats the weather like up there now?

Will- you have an ARB right? looks like on the first pass it had too much preload on the pass side. The other runs it left straight. I presume you adjusted it?

Baby steps, don't want to get overzelous and go heels to jesus only to crash down and smash **** up. I may be going again Sunday so I'll be loosening up the front more and then seeing if I can get the back to bite harder, then up the 2step more.

The weather is good. i think it was right at 1100 DA yesterday. I do have an antiroll bar. The problem with the first run is that the guy didn't get me in the water box deep enough and fought my brakes to get a burnout. Then I wasn't lined up in the grove right. The second pass my buddy got me in the box and lined up in the grove. Left straight as an arrow. Saw wall on the first pass and was like.....
