Default Stock c7 versus intake gutted cats 5.0

Stock c7 vs 5.0: http://youtu.be/lkOdQuhAtQY

Had some fun at the track last night. Ran a stock c7. Not too bad I think my car has another mph in it based on my best 1/8 mph, as I could shift a little higher in each gear. Best pass of the night was 12.50@115. Best 1/8 was 90.6. This is all on stock shitty 235 55 18 Pirelli.

Also got a run with a c5 with headers. No tune or intake. I didn't get his name. I think he hangs out on tech though..he was running low 13s@109ish I think

Good runs! It always cracks me up to hear all these guys on here bash the 5.0...and yet here is one with a couple bolt-ons running mid 12's on stock tires.

That street looked like a race track to me

Good kill You're driving on those stock tires well.. My auto hooks them pretty good, but I've not seen a manual make a clean pass on them yet. Lots of butthurt will ensue .. C7 driver couldn't drive, and stock C7s run 11.5's, and 5.brahs are

I guess its really is not a street racing story. But I can't get any of those dam races around here. Lol.
Not even really a couple of bolt ons. Just one. Intake. I gutted the cats with a screwdriver and hammer.

In the ls defense there was a ls7 zo6 running 12.0@122 stock

Came out of the hole at like 1500 to 1700. Tried to feather it. I do have lca's on the car from bmr so they help. Car was definitely making some power to go mid 12 on 2.06 60. Plus some wheel hop in second

The mid 12 ET was nice but what is more impressive is your trap speed.

I recently ran a 2014 GT with Off-Road H, JLT CAI and BAMA tune and had a fender on him by 130. I have not went to the track yet after the cam install but I do not think I can manage a 115 trap speed. This is why I am more impressed with your 115 for your minimal amount of mods and on street tires.

I had a bama tune before and I went 113 at low 13s. Same mods but no lca's. Then I had it dyno tuned. So I picked up 2 mph but my best 1/8 bama was 87.5. Now I am 90.6. So I think it has 116 in it if I rev it a bit higher in third and fourth.

There was a bama tuned 5.0 last night tune only running 111. Stick. Not sure what gears. 93 tune

My best 1/8 mph with my old z28 was little under 93

The DTP tune on my brothers auto 5.0 made a hell of a difference.

the 5.0 respond awesome to a tune... especially the few tuners out there who really know what theyre doing. The autos pick up that much more just from transmission refinement. All things being equal... a tuned auto 5.0 vs a tuned m6 5.0.... the Auto has the advantage all the way around... even on the roll. Most of the guys run the autos unlocked only in first gear and the second they hit second... lock up and go through the gears. Thats why u see such crazy mph out of the A6 guys... Only using the converter to get the car moving.

Nice ET and mph for the mods, and nice kill on the C7. What track is that?
