calling out fox bodies
Hey guys. I am not looking to set the world on fire but I would like to have some fun and find out how people had to suffer before real horsepower came back on the scene. I have a 1991 5.7 TPI Z28 that I am going to swap but would like to have some fun with it first. It is mostly stock with I believe a roller timing set and some roller rockers and the cats are deleted. Any fox bodies will need to be some what comparable. Headers, cold airs, gears are fine. I am 50,miles south of Houston. Anyone interested, shoot me a PM. I have the gopro ready to go.

As originally stated, I am not looking to set the world in fire. I just want some fun comparable fun with turds from this same erra. I don't find any fun in running this car against anything else. You can mod the **** out of them and they will go faster and faster just like anything else. I have plenty of toys to beat up on fast Fords with. I will call it like I see it and say it pretty much takes the 5.7 set up in these cars to hang with a decent driven 5.slow stock for for stock or close to it. A 305 was only a turd because of the head combos that went on them and the fuel delivery system that went on them. A flat top, X' cc headed 305 will run right along with a 302 ford and vise versa. Builds are not what this is about. It's about throwing on some mullet wigs, cut off blue jean shorts, a tank top and get down. I actually think a friend of a friend has an almost all original 89' 5.0. I think I will have my hands full, maybe even a little over full. Either way, if it goes down the video will be posted here...probably with some Bon Jovi background music. LOL

Hooker 2210 headers, 1.7RR's, CAI and an HSR and it'll surprise you. Internally the L98 isn't a whole lot different than an LT1, it's just extremely choked out from the intake and exhaust

I realize that but the FI system has two injector circuits which is where most of the HP gain came from in the LT1. I am going to do it right and LS swap it. Just looking to play until then.

All bullshit aside, it's a lot of fun tinkering with these older motors. May not get the return per mod like the newer more efficient stuff, but you can still surprise people. I'd put 10 holes on my 86 and roll around with mufflers stacked to keep her quiet if the 10 holes weren't the most horrid wheels to ever inhabit Earth.

I guess it's how fast you want to go. With bolt ons they have ran up to 106 mph. Don't know why you couldn't hit 110 with a mild cam. Buying all the stuff for an LS swap won't be cheap either. Then of course good heads for an SBC are cheap and everywhere, then you can get piles of HP.
It's your car, build it how you like it. That's what it's all about. I already have an LS car and a swap is always more involved than people think. I'm just going to leave mine SBC based.
