Cam only LS1 vs Cam only 2v 4.6
**UPDATE**
Buddy got his car back tuned and with the new cams installed.
He has an 03' GT automatic with full bolt ons (headers, ORX, catback, CAI, TB, TB plenum, recent cams, and 3.73 gears)
My mods are in my sig.
He let an idiot friend drive it and he curbed the s*** out of it and tore up 2 rims
However he will have his new rims and tires on monday and I will see if i can get a run in with him around that time.
I will update the tread as I get information and I just have to tell you what was said because based on the last thread, it is hilarious!
So last time we ran (before his cams) we did some digs and 20 rolls. I am currently waiting on a 17X11 rim to come in so I am running 17X9 at the moment and 275-section tires. I am also running without LCA relocation brackets so I am dealing with wheel hop (alot) on digs.
First races were 20 rolls and I started in 2nd (3.90 gears so not as bad as it sounds) because I knew the car would hop and spin all over the place in 1st. He started in first. He honked it and I punched it. He barely pulled at first (I nearly matched his pull in 1st gear 4000+ rpm with my car in 2nd @ 2500-3000 rpm). By the time I got to the top of 2nd gear I was 1.5 cars ahead, shifted into 3rd and put like 4-5 cars on him before I let out.
Did another 20 and same story only I took it to 150 MPH by then, I was Idk, 17 train lengths in front of him.
Did some digs and I aborted the first dig because of wheel hop. The second dig I left from Idle and spun but short shifted into 2nd and right when I was about to yank the paint off of his car he let out... Not even an 1/8th mile.
So when he gets his car back he wants to race and he says that cam only 4.6 2v's run in the low 12's and with his bolt ons + cams he will do 11's. I didn't lie and said my car should do low 12's high 11's if it hooks. He says he'll destroy me now since he "destroyed" me last time we did digs. I told him that if he gets a good start and I get a bad start, I'll be around him before the 1/4 mile. Video coming soon. Anyone think I'll get smoked in a 1/4?

He has the little "2v that could". He told me he's beaten countless Coyote powered mustangs, Coyote + bolt ons, Corvettes.... I am not a 4.6 expert but I have some reservations about that because a fully bolted coyote (cobra jet manifold, TB, CAI, Headers and Full exhaust, and tune) gives me a run for my money.... I think I am going to look into a 2v swap.....

This guy is either completely clueless or is simply messing with you lol. You wanna know how power cams added to my 04 gt...?? 15 rwhp. It made 285 rwhp...yes that's it lol

Good luck on your race. My brother in law has a full bolt on (every one possible) dyno tuned 2v, with gears. It is agonizingly slow it is a vert too. I hear they dont gain much from cams ether. In for vid

The cam I had in there was just a medium sized one, and even with a full long tubes exhaust it only had a very small lope to it. 15-20 hp is very common with those cars, so yeah they do suck that bad when it comes to cams lol

If he isnt putting close to 375-400 rwhp, he isn't going to have a chance. He said they are emailing him the dyno sheet, and if it isnt in that range, it's a waste of gas. My car makes around 400 rwhp and maybe 100 ibs heavier, and its a 6-speed and not a 4-speed (stock stall) auto.

OP let me give you an example of how badly you will crush him lol...I actually raced a cammed LS1 that made just a touch over 400 rwhp with my cammed 04 gt on a 100 shot. I made right under 400 rwhp and 500 rwtq. Even with all that it was so close that it wasn't even funny lol. I did beat him by maybe a half car by 120 mph
