'99 Trans A4 (bone stock) vs '99 Trans Am (slightly modded) Video
I went to the races on Wednesday night were I found a cool dude in a '99 Trans Am M6. His car is slightly modded: Short shifter, Stage 3 monster Clutch, SLP lid, LT headers, C4 Corvette ZR1's with 315s in the rear and full straight piped. My car with just newly installed 3:42 gears with only being a week old, apart from that it's pretty much bone stock. He decided he wanted to do a fun run.
The Race: I don't know how much he was launching by at all but while the flagger was aligning his car, I was stalling my car up to 1,500 RPM before the wheels start spinning but I felt the car jointing from the rear before the wheels start moving. The flagger threw his hands down and we took off, the first 2 seconds we were neck and neck and towards the middle I was pulling away from by the end I had already had a good car on him.
Second Race: I'm a fair guy, so I wanted to get another race with him. The second race neck and neck but I was already pulling heavy on him the second time. By the end of the race I had about 2 cars on him.
The Aftermath: He told me he was spinning the majority part of the race and he told me is super quiet too lol.
My conclusion: The rear as I stated is barely a week old. Since the upgrade from 2:73 to 3:42 gears, the car chirps into 2nd gear and it a lot harder then it ever did before. So with that being said, I honestly didn't think I was gonna win to be realistic about it. IMG_4380[1].mov

Good runs man and nice win. A couple things stick out to me on what happened....
He botched the launch which on an m6 car is critical its hard to catch someone when they get out on you from a dig. The a4 with 3.42's has a much better first gear than the t56 does.
Also and most of all are those wheels and tires he has. You might as well have just thrown 200lbs of lead in the pack of that car. ZR1's are HEAVY so its like walking around in lead shoes. Routinely they weigh 15-20 lbs each more than a stock tire setup which equates to roughly 60-80lbs of rotating weight or about 200-250 of static weight. heavy wheels suck
btw there are no such things as factory freaks nowadays thats just nonsense

Nice run! I was waiting for him to come around you but you held him off.
I do not understand the Stage 3 Monster clutch and 315s on a slightly nodded car though. I think those mods are hurting the performance of his car unless he is just planning on bigger power in the near future.

ya lol i forgot that clutch that weighs almost 10lbs more than the stock clutch isnt doing him any favors either. a 315 street tire is pretty useless lol i have never seen them hook up any better than a good 275-295 they just weigh more and look cooler. if you need a tire to hook just get a dr in a reasonable size
