For track use, I'd agree. You're getting most of the performance of an ACR for half the price. That being said, I think the ATS-V is the winner. Why? Because stock it gives very similar numbers to a GT350R, it gives you a comfortable ride with luxuries the race car GT350R doesn't, it's still fairly close to the price of the GT350R(which is probably not a car you'd necessarily want for a DD while the ATS-V is), it handles well on a track, etc.
This is Road and Track, not budget and track, not track and track. If they wanted track and track, the ACR should have won from sheer stupidity. Just look at the records it broke and holds. It's the bar-none destroyer. Budget and track would be the GT350R, Road and Track, IMO, is the ATS-V
But these are magazines funded by companies, so it's not particularly surprising.
