For track use, I'd agree. You're getting most of the performance of an ACR for half the price. That being said, I think the ATS-V is the winner. Why? Because stock it gives very similar numbers to a GT350R, it gives you a comfortable ride with luxuries the race car GT350R doesn't, it's still fairly close to the price of the GT350R(which is probably not a car you'd necessarily want for a DD while the ATS-V is), it handles well on a track, etc.
This is Road and Track, not budget and track, not track and track. If they wanted track and track, the ACR should have won from sheer stupidity. Just look at the records it broke and holds. It's the bar-none destroyer. Budget and track would be the GT350R, Road and Track, IMO, is the ATS-V

But these are magazines funded by companies, so it's not particularly surprising.

I like the gt350r but I'd rather have the ats-V because I'm such an avid Chevy fanboi.

Cool test. I wonder how much quicker the SRT guy could have taken the Viper around the course. Sounds like he was willing to take it around the turns much faster.

They did not seem impressed by the ATS-v in the least, if you read the article.

Still waiting to see a head to head gt350 with the z28. Furd seems to be doin a fine job at not letting this car on known tracks. Cool car .....but it lost in all performance stats.
