Default 87 camaro 5.3 swap vs 4.6l 2000 mustang

First of all wish I had a video so sorry about that. I just got my 87 camaro back up and running(Untuned). Have a 218/218 cam and ported heads on a 2006 engine. The car is basic as it gets pretty light weight. No power anything. My friend has a 2000 mustang gt that he has done a bunch of needless mods on (aero mods, roll bar, wheels and tires) He says the previous owner did a bunch of work to the engine and took a supercharger off of it. He did have it dyno tuned.

Anyways we did a 20 roll and I only pulled half a car or so which I was highly disappointed with. Upset with how the race had went as I expected my car to be quite a bit faster I went home and looked her over thinking something must be wrong...Turns out one of my coil wires had gotten pinched and cut in half. All I can say is I'm happy I still could outrun a 4.6 untuned on 7 cylinders

Cool....so with one cylinder down you both had 4.6L working for you. Once again proving the ls > modular

Yeah haha he won't race me again too. Kind of embarrassing on my part as I figured I would be at the worst 300rwhp. I was more worried about missing a shift or my poor street tires not sticking at all. Cold up here in the NW.

One cylinder down... and a cam, ported heads and light weight. I thought you might have missed that.

I bet you were disappointed at first............
A cammed/ported 5.3 should run quite well in a third gen. Like to see how it runs now.
Why did he put a roll bar in it, is it a vert?..........

LOL...You are a ballbuster, man.
Good one, though.

Btw, OP. Good run! Sounds like you are close to getting everything worked out with your car. If you get some more runs, get them on vid.

So 7 cyl 4.6 H/C LS > 8 cyl 4.6 built modular (formerly supercharged) w/dyno tune...

It must be awesome to be able to tell people that your car used to be supercharged.
