Default 2013 srt8 charger vs 00 Z28

So me and my buddy were cruising. Me in my 00 z28 and him in a 1996 Firebird. We came across a 392 srt charger who wanted to play. So I finally line up at a red light with him and see if he wants to race. On green we went, long story short, he put 2-3 car lengths on me real quick. I spun like a SOB so really my launch was awful, by the time I gripped he was a couple car lengths ahead and I couldn't reel him in. My car puts down 370rwhp and from what I've read that charger is a 470hp car and runs around 12sec. Anyone else have a run in with these mopars?

I drove a challenger 392 M6 down the 1/4.... an auto will move out but the manuals were gimped by the factory tune.
They do pull damn hard either way... Good death. At 370rwhp. I would expect you to take a stock one if you hooked. Spinning ain't winning as they say.

I feel like a roll race would have been a lot better outcome. Idk how but he didn't spin one bit. I got toyo drag radials and roasted them. A course my tire pressure wasn't dropped or nothing.

For sure, spinning ain't winning.

Did they ever offer the AWD Chargers with the 392? If so, that would explain things.

Playing catch up always feels slower. If you didn't spin you would have wrecked him

I run Toyo's. They do decent on my car if they have a little heat in them. I'm kind of surprised that you overwhelmed them with just 370 rwhp. Honorable death though. Thanks for sharing!

Well I'm running around 25psi and didn't heat them up. I've never had a problem breaking them loose if I just floor it from a stand still. When I go to the track, heat them up, and drop the psi, they hook a lot better.

Also my car is a stalled auto, so Dyno numbers may not be the best representation of how it performs. I've yet to get to the track but I believe this is a low 12 second car. It's a cam only set up now but 243 heads are going on soon. So I'm aiming for 11s

Hay man we have all been there. Heat of the moment ur foot just goes stright to the floor lol and I've raced a 392 for right around a 20 roll an destroyed it, at least 4-5 cars to 20 to 120.. but my car is a bolt-on, cam only, 6 speed with 411's and dyno at 396 an runs 11.80s consistently. Bet if u had a better start it would of went ur way bro..
