M3 Rematch...

So I played with the cam timing on my tune a bit (still learning these cars), it seemed to help. Same M3 from before. 40-150ish before he got me by 3ish cars. Much better this time, enjoy. Also added tuned runs for him and some 20 rolls.

Huge difference!! Badass man! Car sounds so good. Leaves very hard from a 20.

Prototype007 03-21-2016 10:19 AM

Nice work man!

It's nice to have a buddy that you can measure any changes to your car with. The 3rd and 5th run really shows how much better you did

Still pulled you pretty good up top.

With his tune, yes he certainly did.

Car sounds great, nice runs! I was surprised by the M3, what do those things trap stock?

6PntHo 03-21-2016 05:19 PM

Nice runs. Good comparison of the tunes.

Looks like on average they trap 118 or so. This is also the lightest M3 as well. Base manual, lightest stock wheels, carbon fiber roof. Stock they make 420ish whp and weigh a couple hundred pounds less than my car.

Good race man! You hung in much better than your previous run with him.
I am not up on these BMWs but what is that JB4? Is this his tune?

Yea sir, it's a piggy back, very popular amongst turbo BMW's. I think they claim 40whp with his setup

Got ya. These BMWs are pretty impressive cars but they seem like they come with a cost. I am betting that piggy back is probably not cheap.
40Hp are some good gains though.

Piggybacks are relatively cheap in terms of a tuning device. The cost is whether it's gonna work correctly or the stock ECU will override and fuck it all up lmao.

At least that was the case with my piggyback on my truck when I had the turbo.

Prototype007 03-21-2016 08:52 PM

JB4 probably cost less than a SCTx4 from a tuner

Wow, wasn't aware that they were that quick. I'll make sure to be on my game if I ever run into one lol.

First of all holy fuck that Mustang sounded MEAN, and nice shifting too, gave me a stiffy

I was at an F8x dyno day and with a JB4 (which I believe is around $600-800 not bad at all) and E85 these cars can hit just around 500whp with a baseline of 412-420whp

On the same dyno same day my old LS3 C6 put down 395whp, a bolt-on e90 M3 put down 360whp

Watched again. OP ricer jumped a few times. And what's with all the gay rolls?

islander033 03-23-2016 04:05 PM
