Default 2005 Dodge Magnum Station Wagon vs 2011 Nissan Maxima 3.5

Magnum RT is 5.7 with intake, headers, cutout, tune.
Maxima is 3.5 with what I believe is only intake.

40 rolls. There was quite a few more runs, but these show the story.
I was on all motor, and not on kill that day. I didn't do much racing. I play the camera car here, and I'm not really trying to race them as much as I am just trying to stay beside whoever is ahead.

I honestly figured the run should have been a tiny bit closer but this was a ganking. Both cars stock should be mid 14s @ 95-96ish. Magnum should be a bit more IMO, but not the bus lengths that got handed out.

Manual or auto maxima? Manual might have done better. Not sure if the auto maxima came with the crappy cvt.

Auto. Unsure. He's caught a bad one from a dig too before when they both were stock.

We actually had 2 gopros on the magnum, but for some reason, the one facing back didn't record even though both were set to record before we left the meet spot.

CVT....those cars are turds. You have to find a 5.5 gen 02=03 max to have fun. Those are quick with bolt ons.

I had a 5spd auto Altima SER, surprised a few Zs and Gs. CVTs are very slow.

I had an '03 Maxima 6-speed 10 years ago. Got rear ended otherwise I would've kept it forever. They were surprisingly quick. Friend at the time had one with intake/catback/clutch went high 13s@101 consistently.

The hemi really impresses the hell out of me. Never had one till my 04 Ram, but it's damned quick for a truck, WAY quicker than my old 5.3L sierra. The amount of torque that it produces is incredible. It's a shame that dodge didn't have a car in the 3400lbs range to slap it in.

3400... ****. Mopars weigh as much as small planets. That's their downfall tbh. Hellcat in the 4200, 4400 range... This wagon is around 4300lbs.

I know, it's ridiculous. If they could be had cheaper, I would seriously consider swapping one into something lighter like an SN95 mustang or an LT1 Fbody just to see what would happen.

Honestly, I like the hemi better than both the mod motor and the LS1.

Nice vid! I love races with regular every day cars like a Magnum and Maxima. I have to say that the Magnum was pretty impressive.
