C7Z vs 700rwhp Grand Sport
Got my first loss in my new C7Z, and it was a doozie! Lol
My friend and I went to the local spots and found nothing so we decided to run them so I can play with the new car... We knew it was gonna be a slaughter but...it was fun anyway.
C7Z: Bone stock, 1000 miles, A8, with a passenger
C6 GS: C/I/E/blower/meth/stall, Drag pack, no passenger.
So about 170 rwhp difference and 450lbs or so, and it shows..lol

Naw.. it rolls out hard. It's been a 9.56@143 in good air and consistent 9.70@141 in +2000' air.
He has a great combo really, drive it everywhere, run 9s, roll race it etc... he he doesn't really even have that much money in it. It's just a Novi 1500 blower with the restrictor still in it, only makes 9-10 psi...it made 700rwhp on G Forces dyno.
Ironically, when I had my C5Z, I beat him by 4-5 lengths from a 60 roll with about 130 rwhp more then he had.

140mph trap is about what I expect from a combo like that. If that is the case, then the car is running good. But from the pull on the video and your car being stock (with a passenger), it did not look like a pull a 140+ car would do to a mid 120 car.... Your car did excellent then.
Thanks!
Yeah I held him off longer then I thought I would...I knew he was gonna freight train me eventually... at 115 mph he came by like I was in reverse...LOL
I'm gonna take mine to the track here in a few weeks, as soon as our good air gets here. I'm hoping for 10.80@129-130 on stock tires.... Thats typically what they run down here in +1000' DA or so...
Yeah today I tried to figure out the weights..
I believe an auto GS weighs around 3300lbs, add 80lbs for the blower stuff, then subtract 80lbs for the drag pack...SO that put the GS at 3500lbs race weight last night with the owner in it.
Mine is around 3570lbs, +180lbs for me and +180lbs for my buddy that was with me.. So thats 3930lbs race weight for me last night.. 430lbs difference is a LOT...

There has been quite a few of them make 800-900rwhp on the stock trans and they are holding it...but who knows if they actually run the car or not.
AMP has built a couple C7Zs going 8.9-9.3s on stock trannies and so far, they have held up. They are hard to get them to shift right at that level though.
The A6 in the Grand Sport in the vid is a stock trans with an FTI converter. He has ran a bunch of 9.6-9.70s and TONS of highway rolls and the trans has held up great... Thats at 700rwhp.
The proper trans tune is the key.

9's seem to be the new 11's!

As for the camaro, I think you'll be plenty fast with it with a blower on it. My wife has a 16' 2SS and I love that thing. It rides much better then the C7Z, feels like it steers more precisely and damn sure sounds better. The seats and door panels are a little nicer in the camaro too IMOP.. I'm real impressed all the way around with the 6Gs and I am not a camaro person at all.

Sure...I see how you are... Want to beat me with my own crank....(old crank)
Yeah we can run em... I'm sure you'll run away from this turd... These things only trap mid to high 120s.
