Yep. I pulled a GT500 in my 05 GTO, got him by a fender in the burning texas summer heat. Heat soak seems to do a number on them, because I shouldn't have won that race.

Heat soaked and shitty driver GT500 still came around and beat the 5th gen that stole the hit with a 1 car lead.

you know your car fails when it is heat soaked before the start of the race. Lol....

Shitty driver and extra passenger in SS cost him the win against a "more powerful" supercharged car...

07-12 gt100s are the biggest auto failure ever. I mean **** even 5gen zl1 could outrun them and according to the furd guys that's a terrible car.

I would take a 07 GT500 over the 5th gen just due to the fact it is a power adder car despite how slow it is for the power it is.

I'd buy the GT500 first, then the Gen5 second.

If it wasn't for Phil and Martin, I probably never would have liked Gen5 cars.

Fact is 5gens to this day is a better overall performer than any comparable mustang. There is a little give and take in the acceleration department but the 5gen blows them out of the water from a driving standpoint.

Id advise you to re-think that.

I say this as a completely objective and unbiased person that has owned both a 14' 5g ss and a 14' shelby.... Sometimes I second guess my switch, from the 5g to the 14 shelby.

Sure the shelby has more power and it is an extremely special car BUT the chassis / driving experience was just down right superior in my 5g ss 1le.

I guess for my main purpose (rarity factor/highway racing with minimum work), the 14' shelby fit the bill slightly better.

If by give and take you mean the mustang gives the camaros a few cars head start and still takes the win.

No.....by give and take the reality is the 5gen zl1 outruns every mustang ever produced in a straight line except the 13/14 gt500. And other than the gt350s it out handles them all. And honestly with a equal tire it will probably take out the gt350r there.

Sorry azz zl1 5grn crap turd

This. Power adder car is fun to start with. Early gt100s just need lots of little work to get them to run as expected. Gearing sucks and hard to launch out of the box.

I would prefer a V2 over a zl1 as well, but with the 5G zl1s dropping in value and the V2s surprisingly rebounding, the zl1 is becoming quite a decent option for a blower car on the cheap.

Just have to mod it well like you would with the old gt100s for it to perform as one would expect.
