Should I feel underwhelmed by the 496? Because I do..

A buddy had a 46x cubic inch big block in his love truck and he was very disappointed in track times first few outings after he had helped me build and race my s10 with a hundred less cubic inches he thought he would just blow my doors off it runs better now but for the $$$ I expected more

A freind built a bolt on l88 in a 2nd gen years ago. Used all the correct parts for it. Only real difference was the heads and intake was cleaned up a bit in the ports. Stock l88 cam and all. It went 10.6 at like 126 or 128. It's not hard to make them go. I really don't know how you can hardly build a 427+ci bbc and not run 10s with it

So i fixed it in the description but its a "468" not a 496, idk why in my head i kept thinking 496. The Camaro was built about 15 years ago at this point so there is deff room for improvement im sure with a real converter it would wake right up. Its set up as a crusier.
Not for nothing but my car is no slouch id say the Camaro is also a very bottom 11 sec car if not better. Id like to get a good dig run on video his car comes out hard.

Yea on paper he should be walking me hard, i truly believe with a converter swap it would wake up big time. It may not be on the faster end up of spectrum for big blocks but its still a high 10 low 11 sec car which aint nothing to scoff at. Plus it looks and sounds so damn good.
