If the Cobra has good tire and 4.10 or better gears, it'll be a good race.... a good 60' race that is. Freight training after that.

Easiest would probably be a 100 shot.

I disagree. Once you learn how to drive one the Cobra would beat the LT1 anything stock even the C4. Top end

The fact that the lt1 has a cam will make a good race. I can say from experience I was pleasantly surprised how well a LBO cobra around that year kept up with my bolt on lt1 WS6. Was a great close race

LT1 has a cam but no mention of a stall or tune. It might not run that well

TA should make 310-320rwhp. Cobro should make 260-270rwhp. I say TA by 5 or 6 cars from a dig or low roll.

Great point. Unfortunately that is the case for many people now able to pick up these cheaper lt1 cars and fbodies in general.

Just dont get many solid setups

This feels *** backwards, normally I am defending the Ford. Most of the time, the Cobra was running 14.0@100, with hero runs in the 13.7 range. The Fbody was right in that same range and the Y body was a little bit quicker.

Many have gone wayyy faster with one. Mid to low 13s back in the day was possible in the NE. I seen LT1s hit 13.6 102 ish in C4s. Mike Smith,Bob Cosby,Evan Smith,Barry Shepard,Jerry Green,N20 Pete all went 13s stock with Cobras. They are way undergeared and you have to shift them right before the limiter. It took me a long time to figure one out and Bob was a good help with them for me on the Corral. For some reason the 98s seem a tad faster. Of course Bob went really fast with a 99 but that is a different story. I do not know why or have an explanation.

I have owned a Mustang since 1992. I worked,raced,driven a lot of 96-98 Cobras. I really want Hammer's 1996 Mystic bad.
