Nice kill. 3v's are pretty crappy, mid to high 13's. Cams REALLY don't help them that much, it's more about the sound than the performance.

I beat a guy with an 05 3V GT that had most of the bolt ons for mustangs and comp cams. He had the receipt for the cams in his glove box. We went door to door til 130 when my car was intake/catback/baby cam with no headers lol. HP tuners tuned no dyno. He was part of a club called "Horsepower stangs". I beat a bunch of 2V, 3V, and foxbody cars that night. It was fun. Sweet kill man

FBO and cams should net you around 330-340RWP. The big thing is the weight of the cars. Base cars weigh around 3450lbs, but the premium cars are more like 3650. I had an 06, fully loaded, shaker 1000 car and it was painfully slow.

I think 3v's are misunderstood and should make more power built than they actually do. Stock, they're junk

I pulled 8 cars on a 3v in my Mystic Z28, from an 80 roll to 130ish. I even let the 3v guy go first too. This caused like a 40 page thread.

That's how I became so popular on ls1tech.

There is a guy in a cammed 3 valve going around cracking at me in Holefish but always when I am not next to him,in a different car or when in traffic. It sounds really good at idle. We get some open road he is going to be in for a shock from my stock looking car.

No suprise there but I'd rather have a Mach 1 over a 3v . Would of been a close race with a Mach .

My brother had a 06 GT with thumper cams and all usual bolt ins, gears, etc...think sounded awesome (like a big LS cam) but wasn't all that impressive on power

Mach 1s are a better race for LT1s. I pulled bus lengths on those turds also with a lid/cat back ls1.

Honestly I think the 3 valve Mustang was a nice upgrade over the previous generation, but 300 hp is 300 hp, and for that era of time, it was was a nice car

my 03 Mach1 stock save for 3inch bullets welded in was just slightly faster than my Dads 09' stg1 Roush from a stop. That had pullies, cai and 3.90 gears and I assume Roush tuned? His car drove much better that's for sure, the chassis changes were quite evident imo.

how it should have started... not being content with 215hp 4.6 in a heavier Mustang.

Well before I even say anything I work for ford and will always like mustangs "besides the S550" that is just terrible but even for its era 2005 the 3v mustang could not run with really anything my 2007gt with a tune and cold air kit I could barley nose out a 1996 LT1 trans am with a cold air kit and catback
