My neighbor has one...I will get some pics when he has it outside again. I tried to get a run with him but he is a retired military guy that does not do stupid **** anymore.

maybe ask him if he will go to the drag strip . but with all the add ons that you have might not be a fair race. his is most likely stk . a lot of guys put headers and tune them but to do any more gets real pricey . you might ask him if he knows another zr1 fella that he may know that has something that has some of the same mods you do . good luck and above all have fun

Yup....gm drops the ball there and alot of guys overlook it during modding shooting for engine power vs rear wheel tq through gearing.
A even more overlooked thang is that heavy *** fly/clutch assembly.
A geared zr1 with a light clutch would flat get it on.

Saw my neighbor yesterday and asked him to send me some picts of his ZR1. Car is pretty much stock. Only thing he does is cruise around and take it to VIR for a track event. Sweet car. I never drove in one so I will get a ride next time he has it out.

I have a '90 red ZR-1. Really low VIN, one of the first sold to the public. Really cool car, surprises a lot of people. Mine is pretty much stock. Magnaflow catback and H-pipe. Funny thing was the extra punch in the seat from putting in the H-pipe. Exhaust in these cars is very restrictive stock. Just with the catback and H-pipe picked up nearly 30rwhp. Just porting the heads and plenum and degreeing the cams gets you to 500 HP on stock cubes. As said before, pretty much everything when it comes to mods in these cars is expensive. Really durable engine the LT5 is, it still holds records today. My favorite thing is to run the RPMs out driving under an overpass. The sound this engine makes when doing that is intoxicating. Very cool ride. Still a relevant performer to this day. That red ZR-1 pic posted looks exactly like mine.

Here are some videos on YouTube of my 90 zr1 ported intake and headers on street tires just type Bradley taylors zr1 and my 92 callaway super natural zr1 under rondekiller. Sorry old fella that doesn't know how to send links . They r fun cars to drive will be fun to see how they stack up to the 5.3 I am putting into my 99 ss cameo with a sts turbo . On 5 lbs of boost.i could age tried to run drag radials and launched harder when racing the zr1 shut fear of breaking the irs rear end prevented this . The dyno on the 90was 409.9 rwhp 373 .3 tq the callaway was 393 wrhp and 368 tq .
