ZR1 vs C6Z

mods on zr1
ported snout
102mm TB
intake
2.35 pulley
cooling mods
pump 93

mods on c6z
heads
cam
intake
exhaust

first run 60 roll
zr1 had passenger, c6z no passenger. also zr1 was pulling timing due to doing 4 back to back runs.

second run 60 roll
cooler temps, both with passengers.

Good pulls!

Nice runs man! Good battles...

H/C C6Zs are tough to run against with LBO ZR1s and C7Zs..... You figure the HP is pretty close, maybe a little more for the ZR1, but the C6Z is 250lbs lighter..

Takes a good bit of power to make up that much weight.

yea, I'm looking forward to this car on e85. we started tuning for it last night. car pulls like an animal but gets lean up top. from some research it seems the zr1's pumps take a lot of tricking in hp tuners to maintain pressure, my tuner will figure it out and then me an the c6z can re run.

on pump its only on 16 degrees of timing, last night on e75 we had 22 but plan on putting more, just need to figure out the pumps.

A stock ZR1 pump will not keep up on E85 at 650rwhp......

Time to spend some money yo.....

I just spent $2k for a fuel system for my 71' yesterday....I hated to but...can't be taking Ls because of no fuel...

Can you run a BAP?

from what i read on the forum people were getting them to hold 700+ just need to manipulate the pumps i guess. try and figure it out, was really hoping not to need a fuel system just yet. if i do ill prob just get the DMS kit.
car already has the 1300 injectors.

im not sure, I've been reading mixed reviews with the type of pumps in the zr1

ajrothm 10-16-2017 07:48 PM

A BAP will help for sure. You can make 700-750 on a stock ZR1 fuel pump on gas but....E85, I seriously doubt you could hold 700 rwhp SAFELY...

Time for that triple Fore...

At least you already have the ID1300s....that saves you $1500...

You could probably run E50 at 700 and get all the gains from E... but you have to mix and stay on top of that shit...PITA...

I'd put a fuel system in it, put that 14% lower on it, full E85 and make 700-725 rwhp, bone stock/unopened engine...= Perfect combo.

Also, you could put meth on it and probably run full E85 on the stock pump/BAP.

On our C7Zs, we have to run dual nozzle meth just to run E50 at 650-700 rwhp...and even that's on the ragged edge.

To keep it simple, put on the dual nozzle meth, run full E85 and stick with the upper only... I'd think you could make 650+ like that...and not spend $2k+ for a fuel system.

im all done with meth, its what made my other motor fail. i don't want to over complicate things with this car lol. ill prob just buy the fore kit even tho I'm so against turning this car into a race car again but i guess its to late. its not about the money, just in the middle of looking for houses so i can't let the mortgage company know i like buying car parts

Detoxx03 10-16-2017 09:50 PM

The Fore systems are great as well as e85. Love that setup on my car.

WisT02ws6 10-17-2017 10:17 AM

Cool runs.

Great runs! I love that Zr1! Z06's are roll race monsters

CamOnlyJabroni 10-20-2017 03:51 PM

Tight runs. Halltech CAI on the C7z wakes them up quite a bit. The ram air option was icing on the cake. C6z, ZR1’s and C7z’s are all badass. LS7 is just cooler in my book cause it is all motor. Would of been a lot cooler if the heads didn’t poop on themselves in stock form.

I am am hoping this new hopped up LT4 that comes in the ZR1 will make it cheap to add fuel system for e85 compatibility.

Fore system is the way to go! This video proves the biggest enemy of ZR1s and Vs is heat.. That is a strong running Z though

i bit the bullet and just ordered one. now to find time for install.
the car ran so much better/cooler on e85 that i couldn't bring myself to keep it on pump long.
