No longer, he's a busboy at Sly's chill and grill over in Neligh. He makes way more money now though, or so he's bragged. Hopefully He puts up some money and gets that 9 second monster on the track....but that would be as fruitless as expecting hammer to come in here and say something other than LS1 is A ok and has been 9s.

When I was 14 I was a bus boy and loved it. From 4 pm to 2am. Saturday nights for $4.75/hr cash. Next door there was a bar and around 1 am they all flooded in drunk and riled up. **** was a blast.

I got an early start, I was a quick learner when it came to anything mechanical so at 13yrs old I was already doing engine/trans replacements and simple stuff like timing chains/intake swaps and head gaskets. I built my first car and drove it to school before I even had a drivers license. I had drivers ed for the last class of the day and my teacher dropped me off at my car a few times. It was a lot easier to get by with stuff like that back then. I built my first car around 1982-83, It was a 1974 Grand Prix that I bought with a bad motor, I put a 1970 455ci in it with cam and headers. The car was a boat but with that engine it was one of the faster cars at school.

My dad was also in the construction business so I also worked for him on weekends and during the summer. I wasn't rich but I made damn good money for my age.

The sad part is I'm not really making that much more money now than I did back then, You could buy a lot more for your money compared to now. Wages haven't kept up at all. I made $12 an hour doing construction and a $100 to swap an engine 35yrs ago. Gas was 70 cents a gallon when I started driving and I remember paying 59 cents a gallon when a couple stations had a gas war. That $12 an hour job would have to pay around $30 an hour now to buy the same ****.
