Default 03 cobra clone vs mk3 LT1 supra????

Guy at work just bought a 03 gt that he claims is a real cobra. I'm not a mustang guy but I know some of the things to look for. It's a sohc engine and has the svt blower on it with what appears to be a stock pulley. It's an auto convertable. He claims it made 736whp on the dyno. Lol. I tried not to laugh.

Anyway, how do you guys think it would do against my LT1 5spd supra. Mods are 355, ported stock heads, cc306, and other supporting mods. Car runs pretty damn good. Im thinking in the real world his mustang makes around 350whp.

Well considering you really don't truly know what he has it's hard to say here lol. Is it a built 2 valve or just stock with a blower?

That Mustang is probably mid 13 second car if not a tad slower.

It's a bone stock engine with headers and he says it had a built trans. I told him I'll run him this week coming up.

Yeah you're probably right then, it's probably around 350 rwhp or so. I think you'll take the win here

How about a pic of the engine bay and some of us might be able to point you in the right direction to what motor is actually in it.

Not quite lol. Stock pulley (8 psi) on a 2v, assuming its the m112, and being an auto should put it in the high 11s/low 12s on a tire. For comparison, my brother's auto 2v with a turbo on 7psi making 390whp runs mid 11s with a converter.

My 04 GT with 280 rwhp n/a and 400 rwhp N20 ran 13.1 at 106 and 12.3 at 116 on a 100 shot. 60 ft was in the 1.9 range. Car was full weigh 5-speed with a 3.90 gear

2v are turds. Only way ss eater brother ran 11s on 7 psi was gutting it and dropping it from a tree. Or maybe did a 40 roll through the traps. Why not mention what part of 11s? Pretty vast area there.

Don't count out 2Vs all the time. Some can run well when done right.
My buddy has a built 2V with Comp cams. He runs low 12s @113mph with 1.6x 60'. Car is very plain but will surprise the **** out of you on the streets.
Just saying, don't take them lightly especially if you got money riding on it.

Was a 2003 GT 2v that got passed around like a ***** here locally because it ran 11.80’s with a Vortech, non-intercooled, stock exhaust manifolds, off-road x, whatever catback, 4.10’s, stock 5 speed trans and pump gas. We didn’t even have E available here back then
