Sorry, you're wrong. Lid/cat back still means the LS1 is stock. Apparently modular ferds gain much more than LS1 cars do from intake mods and catbacks...those mods make a ferd a MAX EFFORT FBO affair.

Damn, I forgot the LS playbook. It's stock until you get longtubes, which you get, but don't tune it for them. Cam swaps are barely modded, all stock LS cars hit at least 12.8, with most hitting 12.6, all bolt on cars hit 11's easily, a cam only should be sniffing 9's, and H/C/I/Stalls can't beat 2v mustangs. If it wins a race, it's as expected, if it loses, it wasn't proper, or it short shifted an auto, while banging off the rev limiter and stormed back right after the camera stopped rolling. Mustangs are full sausage if they have a CAI and a tune, and should be disqualified from any and all wins if it has a blower on it, because only bitches run boosted.

I did all of that besides my own tuning and I had a manual so didn’t have to tune that stuff. At the age of 20 and had never done anything similar before at the time. Not the easiest thing in the world but as I said any halfway decent mechanic could do it. Or anyone that’s mechanically inclined and has the tools. I didn’t think it was that bad. Did one for a friend after that as well. And then changed out to a different cam the next year and did heads.
i did buy a nice crane cams valve spring tool at the time that held down both at once made it nice. Held the lifters up with dowel rods. Hardest part of the oil pump was lining it up proper and not fudging the o ring.
I can see a lot of people having a hard time with it. But I’ve done much harder things
