By 100 pounds. Would you rather be 100 pounds lighter or have 90hp more?

That depends on the raceweight of the car. The lighter the car the more 100 lbs is a greater ratio of weight loss.

is the 90 hp advantage a rule or just the respective hp they are able to achieve ?

idk what the actual power difference is. But actual rw may be closer to 250. One thing for sure is the foxes that they put the 5.0s in are way lighter and they are able to put the weight where it better suits them. That in itself is a pretty large advantage.

He just spitting crap w/o looking at the entirety of it.

They better hope it's not 90hp difference and now they get a stick. The cps cars will just completely dominate. I'm not in the group that thinks a auto is faster just because. Especially at the power/weight these cars are at.

even with a converter making 2.5x more powa.

extra hp has more effect at a lighter weight too...so my statement was kind of dumb. realized it right after

I cant really comment much more I don't know **** about the class etc

Wow I am experiencing a new species of dumb in that thread

it is turning into a hiding mod thread. but yet I gave a direct link and listed everything I could think of. even included race weight and da.

Some are mad that I used the term MBO. I should have said FBO even though my car is not.

good stuff lol

appreciate that man. But I don’t take them lightly. I’ve got quite a few mods. Looking forward to meeting some at the track.

It's pretty easy to figure out. Coyote stock crate engines are 435hp. CPS uses the DR525 crate engine which has 525hp. Min weight for Coyote stock is 3100. Min weight for CPS is 3200. Either class can put weight wherever they want it. I thought it was dumb to not allow manual trans in CPS when they started the class. I wasn't taking a shot, just making an observation. You guys would argue with a road sign and take the wrong way home.

i don't think the a10 has made it to this class racing we are talking about.

yes you would. Because you likely wouldn't finish reading the road sign.....just like in this case. For starters this year was the first year for sticks in cps. I agree that was dumb. There is gonna be a learning curve there and a bit for some if any to make the change.

The weights you posted are not the entirety of it. They can subract and add for some stuff.

Sure both classes can put the weight where they want but a fox is about as light as a rwd car can get. Leave them with MORE weight to move where they want.

if one really wants a accurate comparison they will compare the auto coyotah stock car to the auto cps cars.

I am confused why some people say with the ten speed the new Camaro likely will not be quicker in the 1/4?

Well...the first 2 gears are pretty close to the a8. That's where most the et gonna come frome. I mostly look for the closer gear spacing from 2nd on to drive up mph.

But if gm still uses a ton of tm in the a10 then it will have more shifts with tm pulling power and negate the gear advantages of the a10.

I’m gonna test drive one see how it feels compared to the a8 which I already really like.

it very much depends on if they do a drag mode lime the 5br0 that reduces tm to nothing. That alone on the a8 woulda made it faster.

For sure the tighter gear spacing will drive up mph. They should be out anytime so we will know soon.

They're supposed to have a factory transbrake to.
