I've never owned a 6.0 Power Stroke but the 6.7L in my 16 F250 is a towing beast.

Can't reach anything, crap constantly breaking, and a hood striker in the ***** for every repair. Not a fun experience. I've heard the same thing, but I've yet to see it.

I've had nothing but bad luck with diesels. My 6.0L had complete service records, all motorcraft parts, and 170K on it when I got it. Then the EGR cooler hose started leaking, the rear seal blew out of the HPOP, the turbo crapped out, the downpipe broke, the lift pump died, the injectors died, the new injectors died, the FICM died, the IPR and ICP died, the alternator died, it ate batteries like candy, and the stupid plastic radiator hose splitter broke. It would randomly refuse to start while hot, and had absolutely no power in 1st gear, only to slam 2nd and haul *****.

My dad's company had a 6.0L powerstroke. FICM and HPOP died. My brother in law had a 6.7L F250 platinum, the PCM died at 47K miles, he also had a 6.7L cummins fry the PCM. My 6.5L detroit was the most reliable, but it couldn't pull ****, overheated like a mother ****** until I upgraded the entire cooling system, and had wiring issues. Now you see why I prefer big block gas, at least the sum bitch starts.

6br0 diesels are poop. 6.4 sucked. Actually idk why people bought furd trucks up to about 2011. They were a pos up till then. 5.4 was gutless wonder junk in the f250 and only marginally better in the f150. A 4.6ux truck wasn't even worth owning....actually had a guy complaining how gutless his was to me at my yardsale the other week. Just outta the blue. If you were on any rv forum guys would ask how to increase power for towing with that junk and the furd guys would chime in softly and say "there's nothing you can do for it". It really took a brand loyal moron to buy that ****.

It did and it did it slightly cheaper. I wasn't pleased when I ditched the f150 for my 6.2 max tow package and it didn't tow any better and it cost slightly more. wtf
filters are not about the same. I've bought them...anyone who has knows this.

Like i said on your 5.0 vs 6.2 comparison. One look at the tq curve and it's easy to see which does better. It's also why the 3.5 ecoboost does well.

Good motor for sure. CPS and sometimes a glow plug would fail. Big deal. Later ones with Powdered rods were weaker but so what. Good truck that was loud.

I've got 160k on mine with no issues yet. It's worked daily in the oilfield too. Only things that have been replaced are wear items. Batteries, brakes, etc. I'm getting a new one in a week or so though.

Keep a spare cam sensor with ya on the 7.3s. They run but just noisy/turdy and the the trucks aren't very nice in comparison to the gm trucks of that era.

They are noisy and the interiors are way dated. The one my buddies dad had was running a bully dog. Pulled his top alcohol dragster

I'm torn between the OBS Ford and Chevy trucks. I prefer the looks, seats, and gas drivetrain in the Chevy, but I prefer the Ford's ride, brakes, turn radius, and wing windows.

Umm, my cruze oil filter is $12.50 here, about the same cost as my dmax oil filter. My next 2 dmax oil changes are about $35 each....crazy expensive man!

Real world, same distance and same load numerous times proves my point. My 5.0 was slightly cheaper to pull with than my 6.2 was.
Your ricer calcs need not apply....

So 2x what a 6.0 oil filter is and you still failed to address the fuel filter. 10qts of oil at a minimum of $3 a quart for cheap **** puts you at $42.50. So unless you're on some dealer special there is no way to make a oil change not be more expensive than a gas 6.0.......unless 10qts are cheaper than 6. Also some of these diesels since we are talking diesels in general here hold more oil than the duramax.

real world tq > you.

Yes, my first 3 changes were free... and my next 2 are about $35 CDN with 5w40 syn for diesel motors. Crazy huh? LOL

You so dum. I've said more, just not substantially more.
But I guess it's expensive if you don't have a job, but have a booming business?

I work....don't know what you issue or concern you have with it.

that Canadian exchange rate must be better than we thought for a oil change on a diesel to cost less there than it does here. Only the dum ones wouldn't pick up on that.

LOL, sure you do. If you did you wouldn't think 3L of oil on a change was substantial.

Here's a pro tip--- you don't change fuel filter every oil change either. Dum Dum.

I'm not convinced you can even comprehend at a grade 7 level. You ain't bright....like at all. wow

Well we are talking about overall maintenance here. So yes a fuel filter is a added cost to them. You aren't real bright are you.

The fuel filter gets changed 2x as much a gas vehicle. Which isn't much at all, an extra $15 over 3 years. lol

3L per oil change is substantial if you can't afford it I guess. Hope Hiollary gets a job soon so she can afford some maintenance.

Maybe a gofundme page for her is in order....

7.3l powerstroke here 260k miles only ever had the banks powerchip go bad. Tow a 34 foot fifthwheel up to the 5500 elevation ski area almost every weekend at one point. From 32 foot boats to car trailers and etc never had a problem going the speed limit and got around 12-14mpg from sea level too ski area. Now dont get me started on the fcking turning radius or uncomfy seats though jesus. Always loved my dads friends 2005 duallie duramax with the allison felt like driving a car almost.
