Most places I have talked to said the rods are good for 850-900... Then above 1k you should stud the mains. Other then that the block and crank will handle some big power.

There are plenty out there way above 550whp and living. I tuned a friend's SBE 5.3 that he daily drives.....just did 19psi on a 78mm turbo on 93 pump gas only....he's got over 10k miles on the setup. The tune has to be right for it to live....which can be said about anything.

Should probably clarify that next time since pretty much everyone talks about SBE not SLB. I'd be willing to bet the majority of those 9 others blew up cause rhwir tuner didnt know what they were doing, not from an actual failure of a component due to weakness. Lifting a ringlands is the number 1 failure of all LS high hp stuff and it's mainly due to tuning.

that's because erryone thinks they have to shove a cam or do the heads on a ls. The engine is plenty capable with out that.

You had a legit motor combo. You got rocked hard core like all while I'm still ******* with bolt ons.
but yea you would need a legit motor combo to run with me only with bolt ons. And the ls6 never got ran in it's best form. You would need a custom errythang to even attempt to run with a bolt on ls7.
