they like to rev. You have 1000 more useable rpm than a ls1. Lets face it....the ls1 was basically just a 5.7 truck motor with slightly more compression. Some years even used the same cams as the trucks. The ls6 is a high performance 5.7.

Now as far as these races are concered there are lots of stuff that affect acceleration. The power of the cammed ls6 is low to me since i made 451/423 with a stock cam on pump. So he still is leaving some on the table somewhere.

Be nice to know some et/mph on each car.

cam is the least of the worries when trying to make a car accelerate.

ls3 valves are slightly heavier because they are larger.

A proper H/c car can run exceptionally well. I spun my sbe ls1 to 7600 with ls6 heads and a 247/255 .660/.650 cam, it pulled away from some pretty serious cobras and trinity gt500’s from a roll, with a 5,500 stall

I'm starting to wonder if maybe my valvetrain is not as efficient as his. The PRC 5.3 heads have the heavier stainless steel valves, and BTR 660 dual valve springs. Plus i'm running forged pistons and rods too. While all that adds strength it also adds weight

The TFS heads I have originally come with those heavy SS valves they got ditched for the turned down LS3 valves.

Simply for the weight, and no other reason?

Sounds like a good match. Be cool to see round 2. So were you guys starting from second or third gear with those 50-60mph starts?

Had to start in 3rd because he would spin all through 2nd. Still trying to figure how he spins at those speeds on those 555R's lol

Yea, I would think they'd hook better than what it sounds like. Sounds like he's on a summer radial tire. Lol. Maybe dried out or too much air pressure?

I never really felt the 555r's held all that well I mean they are definitely better than a street tire but nothing like a Mickey Thompson et street.

I mean im not blowing the tire off or lane changing loose in 3rd but u can definitely tell its not hooked and planted. If im quick enough on the 3-4 shift they will even chirp into 4th. Nt05R’s are sitting in the basement. That should solve my traction issues from a roll

And being that the tires aren't rotted and whatnot it should still hook better than it does. I mean it's only 450 rwhp for crying out loud, but it's acting like it's 550 rwhp lol. Not only is the car a freak but so are these particular 555R's it seems haha

You can vouch for me HCI. You seen me leave the show. Second gear rolling into it turned into a 1/8 mile rolling burnout lol

Toss in a lightweight clutch and that thing will really get moving. I bet that thing with an RPS twin carbon would be a monster.
