fbo gen 2 lightning vs fbody
mods are in my sig. started from a 50 roll with me taking the hit first. gapped him by 8-9 cars by 150. i let him take the hit on the next race from the same speed and he jumped me by about a fender from my delayed reaction, then i pulled hard on him and had him by about 6 cars at 140. we both work at the same place, so when we got to work he told me it hurt his pride lol. I'm gonna have to buy a go pro so i can start posting videos. its probably not too impressive of a win, but i was happy with it.

Good kill on the L!
They were cool trucks for sure but they do require some power to get them moving due to their weight.
Back in the day, my buddy with a NOS MACH (who went to the same speed shop as me), ran a KB Lightning. The L did need some additional tuning but the race did not go well for him.

I love performance trucks. Lightning, syclone, ss Silverado’s. I think they’re awesome. Go fast while having the ability to haul and throw crap in the bed

By todays standards they ain't that fast and typically have a greatly reduced capacity for hauling.
Silverado SS wasn't terrible because it was awd. But a vortec max truck was probably a better choice and i think could be had with 4.10 gears.
Any 2wd truck in my book simply isn't worth having.
I almost bought a new syclone back in the day. But it was as good or better than about any sport car you buy then. That was a very rare instance of a truck actually being a good hotrod.
i hear there are some electric trucks coming available soon that will likely be very good in all respects.

But really the new furd trucks are wiping the floor with the gm trucks these days. A10 is offered in all their trucks. The ecoboost has evolved nicely and they run pick up()good with just a tune as most boosted stuff does.
so ss silvy > lightning

I'm not saying you can't make them perform well. I am saying they won't perform as well as cars. They are simply out of their wheelhouse. To me 2wd trucks are not worth having. I don't need or want a lowered truck that can't haul anything.
i do want a 4x4 truck that can haul my truck camper and pull trailers at the same time.
i pretty much hate all these streetrod style older trucks. Take a truck and make it function like a better truck. That's where performance in a truck shines.
