Yeah they were both hilariously rated at 290hp for insurance purposes.

Boss made 372hp at 6800rpm, dz made 356 at 6700. DZ had a cam with duration of 254 while the Boss had 228 degrees.

I thought the DZ put out more power??? I know in 1969 in the SCCA Trans Am races the DZ took 8 out of 12 races and in IHRA in 68 69 the DZ of Penske a s some other guy won it all..

The DZ won, but if we are talking who made more power it's the Boss.

Hotrod did a test on them both. Boss has way bigger heads obviously, DZ way bigger cam.

Missy craves my validation on an unconscious level. It's quite hilarious.

I would never seek validation from someone who can't even keep a vehicle on the road...

Bruh you wrecked a 160fwhp fwd grand am into a ditch. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when you explained to your mom why you wrecked her ****.

This is the track rental thread so I'm not gonna clutter it up more by cyber bullying your submissive ***.

the chevrolet did NOT make more peak power. it DID make more torque from idle to mid range. that's where the wins came from. as a matter of fact the canted valve 302 murdered the chevy in power from 5500 up.

2.25" intake valves in a 302 are too large. they changed them to 2.19" and did better.

Testing in part one of our Legendary Small-Blocks proved that the original 290hp rating by Chevrolet was somewhat shy of the real power output, as our replica produced 357 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque. Our motor was run sans accessories and with long-tube headers, but 357 hp is still a far cry from the 290hp rating.

With headers and an optimized tune on the 750-cfm Holley carb, the 5.0L wonder engine pumped out 374 hp and 324 lb-ft of torque. For Boss fans, know this was a solid 17 hp more than the equally legendary DZ302 offered by Chevrolet (tested in the same configuration).

I'll take the one that won more races do to a better power curve.......because in the end that's what matters most. Not peak numbers.

Just had to quote this because when the LS got thrashed at the EMC's, you said all that mattered was more power, when the mod won the competition and had a better curve

**** that one has to sting

The ls didn't get thrashed at emc. It made more power and far more average power in that competition. Even the single modular that tied the ls in hp was way way down in average hp and tq. So no my stance hasn't changed.....you've just lost more times than i care to remember.

Yea.....that does have to sting.

Naw homie, sorry. You said "the LS made more power period" which was your insecure justification for why it got its salad tossed so badly that the mod motor got kicked out

So you saying about the dz "I'll take the one that won" is you being a hypocrite and a liar for the 3,000th time.

Man it never gets old ******* you with your own logic

Okay for real this time. I'll continue thrashing you in the BS thread if you want but I'm leaving this one

The only things Snail95 has ever thrashed are the multiple vehicles he's wrecked.

all you gotta do is find the emc article and average the power for yourself. It's pretty easy if you can add and divide. I chose to do the area in the curve where they are in gear and racing.

The ls did make more peak and it made more average......thorough *** kicking it was.

Now the 30p00 got its *** kicked to. Power numbers were similar but the overall win goes to the 302 sbc because it won 2/3rds of the races.

now go cry elsewhere.
