There are many different Northstar engines, 3.5L, 4.0L, 4.4L, and 4.6L. You specifically said 4.6L, so you're wrong.

There were many different versions of the Northstar series engine. Not all of them were unreliable as you're grouping them all in one whole. Yes a couple of them were known for common problems that you're referring. **** one of the versions was on the wards 10 best engines list for four years in a row.
Hio means, the two supercharged 4.4L northstars were rated higher than the 4.6L termi, one at 443hp and the other at 469hp.

And hio is only focusing on those to make his case while he purposely forgets about the bad North stars.

Ratings are tricky anyway, unless we want to go with the early 4th gen being rated at 305HP. We all know that's bullshit, just like we all know that the termi's 390 is bullshit.

The one I had was completely problem free for over 100k miles. But it was the 3.5 V6 which may have been the most reliable of them all.

True that. I don't know if the power numbers for the 3.5 V6 they put in the Oldsmobile Intrigue was underrated or if it was just from the better gearing, but stock supercharged GTPs and Regals didn't stand a chance.

This argument is SO tired it broke my fuckometer. All gauges seem to be reading straight ZF... Whatever that means. Any suggestions here? I'm assuming that perhaps some in here arguing weren't even driving when northstars were new. Not that I really GAF though... lol. About the engine or anyone young enough to think winning this aguement matters. I get it, chevy vs ford blah blah. But any chevy guy that has ever had to work on furds has had to buy 5k worth of EXTRA fkn tools to work on them, depending on engine and car, and year, and submodel, and and and and. THAT's why guys that actually turn wrenches dislike fords... Unless they own shops and can charge for it. I have to buy multiple tool sets just to change dumb **** like wheel bearings. Never needed those tools for a GM anything in 20 years. I literally need another toolbox already because I simply own a Mustang. No ****. That's the principle difference. Only really matters to mechanics though, that actually build and fix ****.
