Out of thin air come on guy.......... reaching today are we. Cavaliers are not faster I will give you that.......... but an LS2 GTO should have no problem with a stock 3v stock for stock.

Well never built a 5th gen but the biggest problem with GTO's running decent at the track was wheel hop an A4 ls2 GTO shouldnt have much trouble running low 13s stock high 12s with good DA. 6 speed cars its a crap shoot.

You got me on that one. Ive never ran in good DA. My 13.0 was in 97° and 7200DA. That was pretty close to the norm at my track. When it was 50s out and had 2500-3k DA, they'd close it

We get pretty decent DA around here except for summer and the tracks here run year round never gets cold enough to close em.

GTOs should be faster than they are for the power they have. They're comfortable cars. Let's not act like they were mustang eaters because LOL. A family friend had an LS2 auto GTO and my brother and I took it out for a ride and let me tell you any 3v I've ever been in, would dust that boat.

lol I mean they are heavy no one is denying that but I still stand by the fact stock for stock the GTO should win. The a4's always seem sluggish stock the 4l65 needs a stall to get rid of the dead spots with that trans, a 6 speed would feel allot faster just be tougher at the track they are plagued with wheel hop issues due to the junk irs they have.

In Md a LS2 Goat and a LS1 F bomb were a good race stock to stock with the same trans. A 3 valve not so much. A LS1 Goat and a 3 valve would be a good run with stick shifts.

I'm gonna have to disagree respectfully. Both can be fast when nodded and both a drivers race stock. I'm not saying your experience is wrong just that gto are faster NA vs NA than 3vs. I'd even go as far and say when moded NA vs NA gto ls2 ones specifically are competitive with coyotes.

Very few GayTeeOhs have ever been impressive to me.

I've seen people very excited about built + terbo ones running mid 9's...WTF is there to be excited about that? LOL

Cwarta's was still one of my favs though. Very little homo!

Well Mac Attack we have an LSpoo GTbrO in this section and when I asked what he thinks he runs he says 13s with his driving. Then he listed 9 reasons why they can't move down the 1/4 mile. GTOs are comfy cars, though.
