Procharged 5.0 vs bolt on/E85 M3
 

So basically a guy in a local chat said his friend was having a easy time a killing bolt on 5.0s and camaros and was looking for any coyote to represent. I kept to myself at first and even made a recommendation on who would be a decent run for the M3 but guys were either not available or downright avoiding it. So after a week of “any coyote for an M3?” I decided to set it up. I took my velgens in the front and went on pump gas to even it up as much as I could. Met up with him, chill dude, we spoke a bit and did 2 runs.

Good runs why did you let out so early? Didn't wanna put more of a gap on him?

Didn’t feel the need to go that fast. Looked back, he was falling back quick so I let off. Also cars are coming the other direction at high rate of speed, 70+, at my speed I’m coming up on them almost faster than I can identify them, if one is a Mexican trooper I’m toast.

the average car is turbo or supercharged from the factory and all motor is probably dead. lots of Q50s,Q60s, stingers, etc that will whoop that shit out of all motor cars.

I understand. This is really the only place I run. Far outside city, during daytime, north and south lanes fairly separated, only 2 lanes so we aren’t passing people at high speeds, we sneak in between traffic groups so we aren’t blocking traffic but also not running up behind people going way fast.

the top q60s is running 10.4.

the top q50s is running not as good at 11.3

all of the 4+ liter turbo V8s from the VW group, the BMW group, and the mercedes group are absolutely insane.

f80 with a s55 3 liter.

BMWs v8 is a 4.4 liter piece. even a non turbo 4.4 can handle a lot of power with a big single.



a centri or turbo is to only way to compete. or like my friend Josh (JTM2085) build a big inch motor and use a big shot of nitrous.

his car is already pretty untouchable running near 5s in the 1/8ths so it can still be done with N2o. the downside is filling a bottle. maybe i can convince him to put a terbo on the car.

OP, your car is awesome. im personally not a fan of S550s, but they are probably better than my s197.

Yah got a buddy with a gold one it's ridiculous what they cost imo not enough car for the dollar but to each his own I guess.

Just drove a 2018 m3 my boss just got. It was sweet I think he pays around 700 a month but he just traded in a 2016 on lease... They are fast but didnt feel nearly as connected to the road as my vette, despite the similar stock specs it just felt slower. Maybe the auto vs manual for me. God they pick up steam up top though

Throw out the AMS Q60 that went low 10's. Nobody has been practically within a second of it and its a unicorn. The VR30DDTT Q50 and Q60 best times are within a tenth of each other, both 11.2-3. They're downright nasty from a dig on the street on regular old tires.

i guess that's why i use 325-50 'street' tires in all weather. may i wont get dragged by one.
