Before anyone starts calling bs. This is a true story. I was shocked at the outcome. Anyway...

I was cruising when I see this red Vette driving in the middle lane. So, I was thinking it was a C5 until I saw it closer and I said "**** that im not trying him". So, I pass him slowly and get in front of him so I can make a U-turn. But, he turns to the left lane and comes right beside me and downshifts. I was actually excited. I was going to get beat by a Z06!!!! So, I also downshift to second and we are off. We went from 35mph-80mph. I was right on his door????? This is me right now>>>

So, we do this another time and same results. He only pulls a half a car. So, he complemented on my car being very fast and I told him his car is Jesus! lol. I asked if it was stcok and he said he had headers. So, I lost by a half a car to a Z06 with headers from 35mph-80!!!

Now, I am 100% sure if he got me anywhere else say on the freeway or from a dead stop it wouldnt be close. Or if we just kept giong he would have pulled a train on me. But the fact is I only lost by a half car!!!!I still cant believe it. I call bs on this kill!

Not to rain on your parade....but.....are you sure it was a Z06 and not a FRC vette?

If it was a Z06 that means that your ride traps somewhere in the mid to low teens in the 1/4.

That's what I was thinking but I asked the guy if it was a Z06 and he said yes. Maybe it was running bad? Maybe my car was running great? There are a lot of maybe's but it looks like I had the advantage.....Well not really cuz I still lost.

How much boost were you peaking at and tapering at? Was it higher than normal?

You've been around here for a while, so I won't call BS, but I wouldn't expect that again from the mods you have told us before. Good death btw.

Nice race, I am not sure what you have done to the car but I do know SRT's can be pretty decent from a roll. I have wanted to run a new vette or cobre from a roll but it never fails they are always going the opposite direction.

what are your times for the 1/4? my friend in his bone stock 04 Z06 ran a 12.1.....so i would imagine that a Z06 with headers should be running a high 11....not callin ur run in BS, just a little curious

Maybe he downshifted from 6th to 4th? And ran you from 35-80 in 4th?

That's about the results I'd expect if he did.

I really dont know what my times are. My last run was a 13.4 with only my exhaust. Right now I am boosting about 18psi. I have Stage1, agp wastegate, exhaust, and a mbc. By the looks of it I got him on my cars strongest point. And trust me he was going his hardest. The skittles did alright. I think my car is somewhere around high-mid 12's. It was a good death thank god we didnt go faster or it would have looked like I turned around and went the other way.

If he downshifted to only 4th, then I would have to see how second is because it would just do a wheelie the whole way.

some cars respond different to mods. example, most people gain at least .3sec from a cam swap. i went from 12.8 to 12.7..with 1/2 mph faster.
